This number is shiny, it's poufy, it has a cape. I am in favor of all of these things, although occasionally when they're combined you end up looking like a very unsubtle superhero -- the kind who never catches any sort of villain whatsoever, because everyone can see you coming.
What I DON'T love, and what I think are coming dangerously close to torpedoing this whole entire shiny, be-caped sartorial boat are these shoes. You guys know how much kitten heels make the back of my arms itch. I GET how they sort of go with the overall retro-flavor of this thing, they just don't butter my own personal toast.
All that being said, I LOVE this from the back. I want to bring it home with me and sleep and eat and clean and write in it. I want to marry it in an non-traditional ceremony and never leave it.
And once this dress and I have been married awhile, I will have a gentle conversation with it about removing this unnecessary breast patch, a difficult statement which will be sandwiched between two compliments: a) "I LOVE your pattern," and (b) "Pockets! The best."
