This style seems crazy to me. It's like Shirley Temple after making out with a box fan.

And that's a shame, as the gown itself is quite striking on her, and her eyes are popping. But the head suit is just flat-out distracting me. From this angle it's not AS odd...

But then she turns around and it's lopsided and unruly, like a bad college football game.

Can we all just take a second to celebrate how awesome her coloring is with the red hair, though? And her EYES. Amazing. But then I come right back to looking at that hair, and wondering why it's springing so randomly around her face in thoughtless cliques, and how mine would look like that all the time if I ever cut it short again. So THANK YOU, Nicole, because you may have been balm to a problematic recurring itch.

Previously, she wore this to a photocall. I don't mind the dress on her at all. But something about the swept-back-and-sprayed coif... it's not that flattering to her face. Somehow it makes all her features look crowded together, like they're huddled together in the center of her head, waiting for a play call. I don't know. Once I saw that, it's all I COULD see. It's not a kind optical illusion. Nor one I've ever HAD with her before.

Or maybe it's that her features somehow all look smaller. OR just that I don't like that the style seems so bored of itself, and/or like it's been done with day-old product in it. I really don't know. But there's something about the hair style that's making the entire thing seem off. Maybe this was just the halfway phase of creating that OTHER hair -- wash, dry, blow it out, pin the front back, then kick her out the door for the photos and then do the rest when she gets back. In that case, I'd have gone with a hat.
