Jennifer Lawrence Models Handbags for Dior

Is she....sprawled on a rattan side-table?

Jennifer Lawrence Models Handbags for Dior

Excuse me, no. She's sprawled on a rattan folding table that's on the verge of collapsing underneath her. I guess that's on brand for J Law, honestly? What ISN'T on brand is a shiny hot pink purse; that said, her coat might be great. The coat she's wearing in the house while she lies on a table that's about to break. Is the story here that Jennifer is a crazy person who's broken into the upstate New York beach house of her former lover, where she plans to destroy all his furniture by rolling around on it?

I do think these chunky knit sweaters suit her -- and while this bag is, objectively, tacky, it's also kind of fun? I'm not mad at it.

Although this one is more to my (boring classic) tastes. If it weren't for the bag being dangled over the back of the sofa, though, I'd wonder if this were something for West Elm. so much delicately textured oatmeal! I just want to see the rest of the sofa, lady.

Fug or Fab The Ad: Jennifer Lawrence for Dior
Full disclosure. I LOVE actresses in ads for bags. I can't tell you why. I think it's because, honestly, for someone who doesn't own a lot of bags, I love them. I might love them more than shoes, even though I have many many more shoes (the paradox of accessories; I'm totally going to buy a bag after typing all of this). I just...appreciate a great bag. I loved the Michelle Williams Louis Vuitton ads; I loved the K Stew Chanel ads. Here, my take is, "could be worse????" Which, I guess, for the Lawrence/Dior MARRIAGE FROM HELL, is high praise indeed?
