This picture is the most evocative, for me. I remember Diana having this way of looking like she was hanging her head slightly, then looking out under her hair and smiling up at the public. It was like this... oxymoronic confidence shyness, or shy confidence, or whatever. I think it's one of the things that made her so endearing.

But then from this angle... somehow that wig is, strangely, a little Camilla Parker-Bowlesian. I don't remember Diana herself being so Parker-Bowlesian. I also don't know if I want to wander down that road, given her rocky HISTORY with Camilla. But it's just... weird to see.

From this angle she doesn't look like Diana OR Naomi Watts. So it doesn't help anything. I don't really require a dead-on impersonation, though, as long as the spirit and the emotions ring true. So obviously, the movie itself will ultimately be the deciding factor. In the meantime, though: What do you think? Good potential choice, or did you have someone you wanted more? Is it weird to use a recognizable actress, or is it too Lifetime Movie Of The Week to use a total unknown? Pull up a virtual chair and let's discuss. Actually, no. No chairs. In our virtual salon, it's all chaise longues.
