And here they are, in their Spice Power Stance, Mel C's pants billowing in the breeze of our collective explosive fan-squeeing. Those suckers could enter a yachting race right now AS the yacht and probably place.

You saw a wide shot of this in Closing Ceremony post, perhaps, but: The ladies all rode in on top of cabs. (As I deliberately pondered the stupidest possible pun for this moment, I came up with, "That seems fare," and then slapped myself.) And I love that they actually decorated and illuminated the cabs differently for each of them -- especially Ginger's as a Union Jack and Mel's in animal print. I hope those cabs are released into the wild as-is, and that people will be able to hail them like everything is normal.

I wonder if Mel C ever gets REALLY bored with the sporty motif. At least a flowy bellbottoms jumpsuit with wedge-kicks is... a creative interpretation of it?

Oh, Baby. With the hot pink, the netting, and the sparkles, she looks like the patron saint of gymnastics -- rhythmic AND artistic. I wish they'd given her ribbons to twirl and a giant ball.

Do you think there was a brawl backstage after someone let Jessie J and Mel B wear INCREDIBLY similar sparkly nude-look catsuits? My money is on Mel B in that fight. Don't mess with the zig-a-zig-ah.

And Geri, of course, wore an homage to her famous Union Jack dress. A subtle and less sparkly homage, of course, but if she hadn't had the flag on her person SOMEWHERE I think there would have been a riot.

I miss her Gingerness, though. Especially with His Gingerness -- aka Prince Harry -- in the crowd. The fusion of two great English redheads would have been a glorious sight to behold.

Almost as glorious as this. Victoria was in serious danger of inviting everyone into the Posh pit. Girlfriend, that skirt is too short for straddling. Quoth the maven (I hope), "Nevermore."

It also had the appearance of slowly unwinding off her body. Granted, Victoria is still stunning and fit and I love her immensely -- both her crankypants persona and the fact that by all accounts she's smart, funny, and warm in person -- but... look, we may not win the hemline battle, but let's at LEAST try to stay away from dresses that have ponytails.
