Anne Hathaway

So, yes, Anne's shirt says "NO SMOKING" in a variety of different languages. It's so straight-faced about it, though, that I keep mistakenly thinking she's wearing a bunch of lanyards -- you know, the ones you wear around your neck that clip to credentials or an ID badge or something. Not usually something one thinks of in the same sentence as "fashion," unless you're saying, "Crap, it's day two of Fashion Week and I already can't find my $#@%ing press pass."

The outfit itself is ALSO really blah, to me. It's a shirt knotted with a skirt, or over a maxi-dress; or, I guess, it could be a VEST over any number of those other things. Regardless, the result is boxy and unflattering and kind of a downer, and it makes me kind of want to tell her to stop being so judgy and bossy -- and that's CRAZY because OBVIOUSLY I agree with her message that smoking is not great, Bob, and that it's not nice to do it around people. I think if this were done in a way that had any lightness or fun to it, it'd be more appealing? I find it dreary as-is. And I'm mostly only putting it up for a vote in case I'm being an unwarranted crank.

She must be growing out her hair, right? Or else just bored of it. All the braiding and such seem like a way of avoiding having to deal with the length.

And here are the shoes. They're not for me, but they ARE the only piece of the outfit that seems to want to hang out and have a daiquiri and enjoy the spring air and smile and maybe sit on a cushioned deck chair. So, you know, there's a LITTLE lightness in the whole ensemble.

Fug or Fine: Anne Hathaway
In which Anne Hathaway turns herself into a human billboard of sorts. She's not WRONG, but I wish it were part of a better outfit. [poll id="12237"] [Photos: Getty, Splash]
