That top on the left is very Olivia Pope -- as is the fact that the pants are awful. The cut of the pink coat is Popish (papal?) but... I mean, the rest of it, she would never.
That model on the left was on "America's Next Top Model," season... six, I believe, a.k.a. The Jade Season (even though Danielle won, it was all about Jade for me). Leslie up there had a wonky walk, and has since been spied on Project Runway, which makes her one of the ONLY semi-professional walkers out of any of them, so good for you, kid. As for the coats: They are probably going to sell out, just for having the least margin of error -- like, odds are, even if the pants are hideous and the shirts poorly tailored, the coats will look okay.
MORE bad pants. I think my other big beef is that they don't even LOOK well-made. If you can't even fake it in photos, how bad must it be in person?
I do appreciate all the leather gloves. But the pants, again, are lousy -- this whole thing is so uninspired. On the left, though... can we PRETEND that's a wine cardigan, and not a coat? Or maybe it IS. Maybe it's a wine cardigan pretending to be a coat. Why would a wine cardigan lie, though?
I wanted to like that cape-coat, but something about the shoulder seaming... it looks like it's designed so that it will always fit a touch too tightly.
Olivia is not going to wear a cropped pant like that, and I'm PRETTY sure that coat is more of a bathrobe.
This ENTIRE SLIDE is awful and wrong and misguided and mistaken and money misspent. It's so many Ms, but it's the opposite of mmm.
That dress on the left would look better without the lace. That outfit on the right would look better if it were invisible.
MAYBE the thing on the right. Maybe? Olivia wouldn't even vomit on the one on the left, because it would be undeserving of her stomach contents.
That coat might be good. I'm calmer. MILDLY. The rest of this is NOT inspiring me to find a Limited and investigate them -- or, in Scandal parlance, I don't feel inspired to handle it.
