That dress is adorable, those shoes are adorable, and again, neither of them look particularly Of Her Time. I wish they'd just set this in present-day and been done with it. It's already a lose-lose, because they want to have their SJP SATC and eat the books too, and none of it adds up, so they might as well have reimagined it all.
Also, we need to discuss how in this scene, Wig appears to be on a break. But...
... is Wig back in effect here? Or was I just hoodwinked (hoodwigged?) by the last picture? Is Wig on the unemployment line? Do I have to send money to Wig? Where will Wig get its next meal?
As for the dress, if you lop off the peplum, it's a lot more '80s than some of that she wears. I am still mildly concerned that this season Carrie has become a Saucy Lady of the Night -- like a Blair Waldorf-type high-end escort who goes by the name Raynbow and doesn't take requests.
I can't decide if I love these, or hate them. It might be both at once.
I am so curious about how much of this outfit is in the actual show -- just the shirt, with the shorts and boots being the Comfort Items she wears during her close-ups? The shirt and the shorts, but not the boots? TIME WILL TELL. Also, judging by the corkscrew, slightly Marie Antoinette-ish quality of her half-updo, I'm guessing that Wig is in full force here, possibly as a rainy-day substitute because real curled hair does not take kindly to water bullets. And I bet Wig is waterproof. That thing knows what it's doing.
