This is ostensibly a meeting to keep the wives up to date on all the stuff NASA has in the hopper, but it's really a way for the show to make the point that there are a LOT of Wives right now. THEY KNOW, OKAY? Also, My Tinder Friend Evan Handler tells all the wives to make sure not to pester their husbands for sex if they're not into it, but definitely bang them if they're looking to bang. MANY eyes are rolled at this.

Poor Nora Zehetner. I would care more about her pain if we'd spent more time with Marilyn See. That said, this 60s look REALLY suits her and also those coffee cups are fabulous.

And that hair is SO MUCH CUTER on Lavinia Swire than her previous wig was.

This is Marilyn Lovell (Marilyn L.) and...the wife of the dude who might be a bigamist. I fear both of them did something TERRIBLE to the wardrobe department to led to the horrors that are currently happening on their bodies.

Betty wears yellow throughout this episode, and JGS looks lovely in it.

In which Jo Looks Hotter In Sunglasses. (I'd like to note that Zoe Boyle was also very good in this episode, and is good in this show as a whole.)

"LOOK AT ALL THIS VINTAGE CLOTHING WE SCORED."
I actually DO want to know where the costume department for this show scored all this sweet vintage. They are killing it. Ditto props.

It's telling that the one time Louise wears color is when she's headed somewhere to tell off someone's shitty husband. Maybe her calling is telling dudes that they're falling down on the job. (The irony, of course, being that her own husband is a total pill.)

You should know that this episode is full of Gus promising to take Betty to Paris, and her telling him that he's all she ever wanted. SOB. Even I am not immune to the emotion in this plotline, less-than-ideal pacing aside. This is also where I'd put my usual railing about how this show SHOULD be more emotionally-affecting on the whole except you already have it memorized.

This was a pretty good scene, where Marilyns S and L come to the base to get Elliot See's personal items from his desk, and the kid at the desk can't let them onto the base without a note from the husband in question. Who is DEAD. And Marilyn L is kind of like, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME," and Deke has to come out and be all, "well, it's protocol," and all these actors seemed very happy to have something to do with themselves.

And, in fact, it is this shitty behavior from NASA that leads Marilyn L to join the other wives in Agitating For Change...

...and gets everyone else to do it, too.

Finally, they let Marilyn in to get her husband's personal belongings and I just wanted to include this shout-out to my university. Go Bruins!

Time passes. We know, because there's tons of stock footage, and newsreel chatter, and Marilyn gets more pregnant, and then has a baby. I wish we'd also seen pages of a calendar fly past and leaves falling from a tree.

Good lipstick on Jo, too, for the scene where It Finally Happens. And I have to say that this scene, where Jo gets a call about the accident in which Gus died, and runs over to Betty's and they stare at the phone, and then a knock comes at the door, was VERY good. Well done, you guys. See? I can be nice.
