## Hilarious

So, Carl Winslow doesn't merely run a town gossip blog, he has PAPARAZZI. Lurking in the bushes to snap photos of Tansy moving into George's boat because bees infested her trailer. Zoe is reading this when....

## \[GASP\]

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2539.xml)

She nearly chokes to death on a donut hole, has to give herself the Heimlich on a chair, and then experiences an existential crisis that she's going to die alone -- much as Miranda did on the episode of *Sex and the City* when SHE almost chokes to death on Chinese food and worries that she's going to die alone and her cat will eat her face. Rachel Bilson was very funny in the A Donut Almost Killed Me segments of this episode, in part because almost everyone who lives alone HAS almost choked on something and experienced her own existential crisis.

## BREAKFAST PASTRIES

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2545.xml)

She wanders into the kitchen with her tale of woe, and both Lavon and AB are pretty sympathetic. I'm kind of not that into Lavon and AB, and that's from someone who was totally fine with them as a couple before they got together. I'm not sure what happened there, but it might be that AB works better in smaller doses/when she's with Lemon. At least we can all applaud the return of kitchen pastry!

## Cheers!

SOOOOOO, last week Wanda quit the Rammer Jammer so she could raise her bees (sigh), but I guess she is back at work because her bees escapede and are now living in Tansy's trailer? This is never explained. Anyway, Lemon and Wade continue to be at loggerheads over the future of the Rammer Jammer, because everyone on this show has stopped discussing things with each other; she wants to have wine parties and has bought some embroidered sofas for said parties without discussing; he wants to make it a sports bar and has this bought a flat screen TV. They have known each other their ENTIRE LIVES, surely NEITHER of them thought this was actually going to fly. (Spoiler: they end up hosting a wine night and UFC championship at the same time/harsh words fly/money is made/all is well. I should not be able to yada yada yada my way through every tertiary plot on this show and YET.)

## BRAIN FOG

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2551.xml)

Tim Matheson calls Hot Cocky Nephew Jonah in to consult on his Brain Fog and it FINALLY comes out that he has a pituitary tumor but "the best kind to have" and basically now he's fine again. No one bothers to tell Lemon or Magnolia. Seriously -- there is all this hoo-ha about Shelby freaking out and leaving town and then Zoe getting her back to town because Brick will statistically have a better chance of recovery if a loved one is waiting for him but no one points out that he HAS loved ones in the form of his daughters -- who should be more precious to him than Shelby, anyway -- other than in a throwaway line about how he doesn't want to worry them or something. It feels like a waste of a potentially really good way for Lemon and Zoe to bond: they don't get along, but they both really love Brick.

## Tansy's Heads

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2555.xml)

The SS George is pretty cramped with all of Tansy's shrunken heads.

## Larry, Darryl and Darryl

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2557.xml)

...not to mention with her three brothers, Larry, Darryl and Darryl, who are basically drawn as COMPLETE HAYSEED IDIOTS, in an unwelcome return to season one's Southern Folk Be Hayseeds cliche. I think you can totally take these characters and make them troublemakers, but I don't know if they ALSO need to be about seven pancakes short of a stack.

## Blah Blah Blah

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2560.xml)

Basically, The Brain Fog was all an excuse for Zoe -- okay, an excuse aided by her Near Death Donut Experience (also, my new band name) -- to go tell George she still has feelings for him. And to get Tim Matheson and LBB engaged, even though LBB freaked out and tried to break up with him. I can't figure out if the show wants us to like Shelby or not, but I do know that I like Zoe's tuxedo pants.

## Lemon and AB

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2566.xml)

"Our plots are kind of predictable right now, but at least we LOOK really cute!"

## Teamsters

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2569.xml)

Did you know BlueBell has what appears to be approximately 150 Teamsters? It really DOES have everything. Except a sports bar. Which I thought the Rammer Jammer kind of was to begin with, which made Wade turning it INTO a sports bar kind of confusing. No way did that place not have a TV for college football before now.

## Dumb Bros

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2573.xml)

Okay, so basically George is so nice to Tansy's dumb-shit brothers that she loves him even more and kicks them out to live in her now-fumigated trailer so she can stay with George. Will no one think of the bees???

## Wine Tasting

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2574.xml)

Also: Lemon is INSANE if she thought Wade -- WADE -- was going to be down with a ladies' salon in the bar, complete with flowered curtains. And Lemon is a lot of things, but dumb she is not. Basically, this entire episode was peopled with characters motivated by plot with little regard for their actual usual behavior, which is always frustrating for the viewer.

## Lemon

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2575.xml)

Also, this is not her best look.

## LBB

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2578.xml)

So, even though I am totally confused about whether or not Shelby is awesome -- as the show has told us for the last six months -- or kinda terrible (this week), I do know that dress looks amazing on LBB.

## DOTS

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2582.xml)

And now we know that Lavon cooks dinner in the dark. His kitchen is a fattening and mysterious place.

## Wanda

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2583.xml)

And apparently, it turns out the Wine Lovers AND the Ultimate Fighters can learn to get along and spend a lot of money as long as they have SOMETHING new to drink and SOMETHING violent to watch (a cocktail invention of Wade's called Beyonce's Navel, and Belles Arm-Wrestling, respectively). This dress is cute on Wanda. As this recap is already sort of cranky, may I reiterate that I find Tom and Wanda kind of tiresome unless they're doled out in EXTREMELY small dosages? They're no Carl Winslow, you know.

## Cheers!

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2584.xml)

I thought you'd want to know that Wade has stopped drinking the noted "Beer" brand beer and has moved onto "Cerveza" brand. Fake brands bring me so much pleasure. I want him to drink beers of every language of the word.

## BAD IDEA JEANS

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2586.xml)

So, high on the success of what should have been a disastrous evening, LemonWade decide to create "an events room" at the Rammer Jammer and to do it by just taking down a random wall, which obviously is a load-bearing one, and the removal of which obviously causes half the bar to fall on their heads. Look. Wade is a terrible boyfriend, but he is not dumb. No dude who spends THAT much time on his car would ever just randomly remove a wall in his beloved bar without making sure it wasn't going to do the following:

## Because, honestly:

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2587.xml)

I mean, seriously.

## Love?

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2591.xml)

ANYWAY. Tim Matheson is alive and well and his surgery went well and there were no cliffhangers and basically no emotional payoff for his illness with Lemon -- who always needs a little emotional payoff to keep her sympathetic -- and essentially his entire health scare was teased and talked around and then FIXED IMMEDIATELY so that Zoe could realize he's like a father to her (something that they spent very little time on, although it's a HUGE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and a BIG BIG thing for the show, that should have been allowed to breath a little), and that Life Is Short: No Regrets, so she runs over to George and tells him she still "more than likes him." And George, BLESS HIM, basically says, "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?" and tells her she had her chance, and he's doing EXACTLY what she told him to do. Get in a real relationship. "And it's AWESOME," he says, and goes inside to Tansy. "I regret that," Zoe says, as she runs off.

It was an interesting scene, and a good one, but I don't know if I feel like we totally earned her making that switcheroo emotionally yet, and I am kind of scared about where they think they're going with this, because I am scared that NO ONE IS DRIVING THIS SHIP RIGHT NOW, and I'm not talking about George's boat. I just feel like....let's just say I hope this week's episode is better.

[Fug the Show: Hart of Dixie recapIn which Brick's Brain Fog is revealed and dealt with in like 22 minutes flat, after 3 episodes of dancing around it. This season had been going so well -- until about three episodes ago, when the forward motion of the plot shuddered to a slow crawl. I feel like we were treading water for the last approximately 130 minutes, between Zoe and HNW breaking up, and the final scene of this particular episode. I often compare this show to Greek -- both are charming, with a cast of thousands confirmed to a small and insular community prone to big events, with a love triangle, and a variety of meetings of well-dressed ladies. (Plus, Carter Covington works/ed on both). But Greek was great at pacing the romantic events with other plot developments that had equally (or almost equally) high stakes, even if they were ostensibly fluffy and HoD, as much as I love it -- and I am THRILLED it was renewed, trust -- sometimes falters when Zoe's love life isn't actively driving the plot. Let's meander our way through this one.![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/img_2538.xml)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/fug-the-show-hart-of-dixie-13-04-2013/)
