# Fug the Show: Hart of Dixie, season 3, episode 20

## Sad Hair

Wade is mad at Zoe over the Vivian debacle, and so she has sad hair all week. She decides to make it up to him by getting this famed food blogger -- conveniently in the area -- to review the Rammer Jammer. George is in the doghouse with Lemon for ruining their health department grade by banging a Sunday school teacher in the walk-in, and ergo also wants to get said food blogger to review Fancie's, to make it up to her. As you can imagine: Shenanigans Ensue. (To cut to the chase: he ends up reviewing both of them to great acclaim. It is nice to see a blogger character on TV portrayed as a smart and reasonable human.)

## Cute Dress

In the B-plot, AB's parents are coming to meet Barry Watson and his hair that I haven't quite figured out yet. AB looks totally adorable in this dress; her big issue is that her parents (rightly) LOVE Lavon and have not come to terms with this break-up. They basically keep ditching Barry and AB to hang out with Lavon. And while that's not cool -- which she eventually tells them -- can you blame him? He's so charming and he has so many pastries! To cut to the chase here, Lavon also has to gently break-up with Ma and Pa AB -- hard for everyone, although they're glad they can go back to really hating Alabama -- and Ma and Pa AB make a very nice effort with Barry Watson at the end. Because who can hate Barry Watson? He has NICE DUDE vibes just wafting off him.

## Sad Neighbor Wade

Wade is in a complete glump. He seems to have realized that Zoe is not really to blame for his problems, but he's also grumpily decided she's ruined his life and so have all her relatives and he doesn't want to have anything to do with her. Eventually Lemon storms over and decides she needs to fix him. I do love the Wade/Lemon friendship.

## Baby Goat

I am not talking about this any further, but Wanda HAS dressed up the baby goat as a human child.

I LOVE Lemon's sparkly skirt/leather jacket combo. There is nothing better to wear when your heartbroken friend drags you to a taxidermy museum as a way to assuage his own heartbreak.

## Zoe

Zoe is basically horning in on all George's work to track down said food blogger, and wears this the entire episode. The pants are practical, and the shoes are not, which is a shame when she and George have their car stolen by someone whom they BELIEVE to be Said Food Blogger (because he's eating everything on the menu), but who is in fact just a hungry criminal.

## Vests!

You'd be happy to know that AB nixed Barry Watson's vest. I can't wait until Barry Watson slowly starts trying to transform himself into Lavon. Hats, bright glorious pants, an alligator named Dolly Parton....

## Shelby!

Shelby is in town to visit and try to get Brick back because she needs help with the baby, which is exhausting her. He doesn't go for it, but she does wear cute outfits the entire time.

So, these two get stranded in the midst of nowhere after George's car is (amusingly) stolen out from under them and have to walk eleven miles back to BlueBell.

## Whoops

At which point they get picked up by Larry, Darryl and Darryl --- who more like KIDNAP them, *again*, like, NEVER GO ANYWHERE WITH Larry, Darryl and Darryl. They're distressed that George broke Tansy heart and drove her to Scooter McGreevy's arms, and they're mad that Zoe made "\[their\] muse, Joelle Stevens," leave them FOREVER, and therefore Zoe and George must be punished!

## Brick!

Brick talks Shelby into believing that everything vis a vis child-raising will be fine; she seems to buy it. All I know is that dress is cute on Shelby and I kind of miss her, and that Fancie's is spending a FORTUNE on landscaping.

## Lemon

Lemon is awesome and eventually tells Wade that he put Zoe in a really shitty position WRT to Vivian and she did her best. "All she's really guilty of is witnessing your heart get pounded. Again. Which probably reminds you of all the power she has over your heart in the first place." Lemon Breeland: Voice of Reason, Speaker of Emotional Subtext At Last Made Text.

George and Zoe kiss to prove to Larry, Darryl and Darryl that actually THEY are in love and so everything worked out as it was MEANT to, and LDD totally buy this and let them go. (Scott Porter is amusingly frenetic in this scene.)

And later they agree that they're REALLY JUST FRIENDS. JUST FRIENDS. THIS COUPLING WILL NEVER HAPPEN, VIEWERS, BECAUSE THE SHOW HAS MURDERED THEIR CHEMISTRY. (I am actually totally fine with that; they're funnier as friends and Wade and Zoe is obviously end-game. I mean, right? RIGHT?)

Because AB's parents are lovely, they totally make a real effort with Barry Watson, and because she has good taste, AB is wearing an adorable top while they do it.

## Dresses!

And Lemon's outfit here is GREAT, where she gloats that she got a great review for Fancie's and George, freshly home from being kidnapped after going for the same goal, kicks her out. George, she doesn't KNOW you were trying to do the same thing and then got kidnapped! I swear to you, the words, "that's great, I JUST GOT KIDNAPPED" would have made her feel super guilty and you totally would have won that fight. Try it next time!

## Wade

I'm sure he'll take his shirt off eventually. Until then, he and Zoe bicker -- there's a hole she hasn't fixed that he keeps falling into -- and she tells him she doesn't even want to be his friend anyway! The last word of the episode? "IDIOT!" So that bodes well for them. REVENGE! (Can we turn Zoe Hart into Emily Thorne? Think about it.)

[Fug the Show: Hart of Dixie, season 3, episode 20Got this one in right under the wire! Sorry about the delay -- the Met Gala ran me over like a truck. Let's talk Dixie. Not a lot of wardrobe changes in this episode, but we said goodbye to even the possibility of Zoe and George (don't you think?) and Lemon wore the cutest skirt ever. Additionally: I have made the editorial decision that I am ignoring the Tom and Wanda Want to Have a Baby Plotline. Tom cracks me up in a variety of ways -- assisting George, being Joel's biggest fan -- but I've never been a fan of their "romantic" "chemistry" and basically I just can't do it. Talk amongst yourselves about ToWanda!
