So, it turns out that HNW doesn't like lying about his love life to George -- or, as he calls him throughout this episode, "George Tucker," like Zoe is going to get confused and think he's talking about Curious George or George Stephanopoulos. Zoe does not want to tell George Tucker that they're doing it. Can't someone put on a lacy bralet?

Zoe also really isn't that into hanging out with a pantless Ruby while Lavon makes breakfast, BUT! Her dress is fantastic.

And Magnolia really isn't feeling her Dad's relationship with Cousin Emily. Don't worry, Mags! That relationship will die before this episode does. SPOILER.

Lemon looks very cute in this quasi-tennis dress. AB looks usually bland. I worry that Lemon is brainwashing her to become less flashy, so that she ceases drawing focus. Although learning that Lemon is an evil genius brainwashing people all over Bluebell would be kind of a fun plot twist.

Whilst out walking, post-brainwash, Lemon and AB spy Ruby and this Handsome Man chatting about getting a drink.

...and when I say "spy," I really mean it. They of course decide she must be cheating on Lavon with Handsome Man and this is something for which THEY WILL NOT STAND. Or crouch in a bush, either.

Meanwhile, for purposes of the plot, George and Wade end up chaperoning an "Eagle Rangers" camping trip, the better to tromp around in the woods and eventually have a convo where: George asks HNW's permission to date Tansy; HNW does not grant it, because he thinks George is just using her as a placeholder until he can date Zoe, and that's not cool; and George reveals that (a) he actually likes Tansy and (b) he knows about HNW and Zoe, and that's totally cool with him. So this is obviously going to explode in everyone's faces next time we're in sweeps.

Okay. I kind of love Lemon. She stalked Handsome Man until she could convince him -- a total stranger -- that she thought he had a raging case of pink-eye, then she dragged him to see Zoe, and forced Zoe to find out if he was in town to love up on Ruby. He isn't... at least, not personally. He IS there to love up on her professionally, though, and wants to offer her a job in Dallas, and Lemon and Zoe get all worked up about this -- Ruby is going to take the job and break Lavon's heart, blah blah blah -- and honestly, they really need to mind their own beeswax on this one. Also, neither of them likes Ruby, so...keep your traps shut, ladies.

You'd THINK Magnolia would be home crying because her father has started seriously dating someone and this finally brings it home to her that her mother is truly never coming back. But no. She's just upset about some dumb dude. In a sense, this is truly a brilliant way to drive home how shallow Magnolia really is -- not that it's dumb to be upset over a dude, of course, but simply that the writers had a lot of really serious ways to go with her, and they chose zero of them.

Over at Lavon's place, Zoe has told Lavon about Ruby's job, which means dinner with the three of them is HILARI-FUN. Ruby gets all worked up about the entire scenario -- the spying and the assumptions and the pink eye -- and announces she never planned to take the job anyway but MAYBE SHE WILL NOW and then she storms out draaaaaaamatically and this all would have been way better if Golden Brooks could move her face.

Lemon hears tale of Lavon's Continued Woe, and comes over to soothe his broken heart with baked goods. He is still all distraught and *she* is all distraught because he is all distraught because if he is all distraught about Ruby, he can't be all that sprung on her, Lemon, anymore. This is a lot of romantical angst in Bluebell, as well as the need for a practical flow-chart extrapolating it all.

So NOW Lemon and Zoe feel guilty about torpedoing Lavon and Ruby and talk him into going to pick her up for her ride to the airport and, en route, make his romantic case. I just like Lavon in basically any accessory and that includes this dumb hat.

Then they stood and watched while this all happened and showed off their coats. Their cute, cute coats.

And so of course Ruby comes back and says she took the job but she's not going to start until January and Lavon is all, "...?" and she is all, "let's just see what happens between now and then," and he's all, "...okay," and this is a recipe for disaster, much like her blouse.

Meanwhile, Cousin/Lover Emily has broken up with Tim Matheson and NOW HE IS PENSIVE WITH COFFEE.

Post camping, HNW pops over to see Zoe -- who is wearing pants I am pretty sure I've seen on Aria from Pretty Little Liars -- and tell her that George is supppppppper okay with them hooking up.

And she makes THIS super thrilled face about it, and HNW is clearly all distressed that SHE is distressed that George is NOT distressed and so he scampers off without trying to have sex with Zoe and then Zoe makes this face some more. REVENGE! Oh, wait. Wrong show.
