## PRville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7335-1024x768.xml)

We begin with Rayna giving Robin Roberts a folksy-charming interview about how she just, my gosh, had no IDEA about her daddy's dirty dealings, but goodness, y'all, it feels good to be singin' again, and Y'ALL, no I WILL NOT talk about my lovelife, and aren't y'all cheeky for wonderin'. She is also wearing pants and a sleeveless shirt that are totally fine -- although the shirt could believably pass as one of her throw-pillows -- but the likes of which comprise 87 percent of her wardrobe. ALSO, the throw-pillow that IS behind her makes her look super boxy. ALSO, this is a really bland backdrop for an interview even with all her trophies back there, although they are a festive touch. I'm going to buy a bunch of trophies and put them behind me at all times.

## Radville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7338-1024x768.xml)

Robin Roberts, by the way, continues to be as cool as the other side of the pillow. It might be a TOUCH more makeup than a GMA interview warrants, but I haven't watched GMA in an eternity -- I only watch morning shows when we're at Fashion Week, weirdly, and I'm kind of addicted to what I perceive as frothy irritations barely concealed on Today -- so for all I know the ABC execs demand that their a.m. reporters always be dressed for clubbing.

## Pippiville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7346-1024x768.xml)

Scarlett has invented an exciting new variety of braid called Drumpkin (drunk + bumpkin).

## YIKESville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7348-1024x768.xml)

Juliette is trying on clothes for what I presume is an upcoming show at a burlesque bar. I know she likes to be sexy, but seriously, they just spent basically 26 episodes barking at us about how she doesn't want to be cheesy anymore because she's a Serious Singer with a Serious Album, so it makes no sense that she would stuff herself into an outfit that uses a thong panty as a necklace.

## Bummedville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7358-1024x768.xml)

Rayna changes into flats and ornate white jeans and flexes her shoulder muscles, and complains to Tandy that she can't buy out her contract without Daddy's money, so Tandy suggests that they go to the big polo event that weekend to hobnob with Nashville's rich fat cats ("You LOVE Big Hat Events"). Which seems like a GREAT idea given that their father is embroiled in a SCANDALE that probably has blowback for a lot of those fat cats, but the allure of the Big Hat Event is too strong. As it should be.

## Mmm-Hmmville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7374-1024x768.xml)

And indeed, every person they hit up for money for Highway 65 does a lot of mmm-hmming and glazed-eye subject-changing and then "Oh, look, I think I need a drink refill," and "Gosh, I need to go say hello to somebody who isn't you," and "Dude, where's my car," and "Hey, that's my bike." One angry old dude even calls out Tandy on how CONVENIENT it is that Powers Boothe's CFO hasn't been charged with anything even though she had to have known about it. Tandy stiffens up and tells him to go suck an egg. It's not a very successful day for the sisters Jaymes, but maybe if they go find a rich dude named Bartles they'll end up with some money.

## Hatville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7364-1024x768.xml)

However, they DO indeed have on Big Hats. And they try to enjoy themselves with the people-watching, despite the fact that, again, this is staged in such a way that makes it look terribly under-attended and boring.

## Awkville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7371-1024x768.xml)

And guess who's there: Juliette, who got a mystery invitation that she ASSUMED meant she was finally being respected by the town's elite, but which actually came from Charlie Wentworth -- the billionaire who bedded her after she sang at his anniversary party. Juliette does a wonderfully subtle job of concealing her feelings, doubly so considering the person on the other end of this facial expression is Charlie's wife.

## Schmoopville

![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2013/11/IMG_7373-1024x768.jpg)

Okay, so these two: They're really mushy-happy, despite the fact that, inexplicably, NEITHER ONE OF THEM is wearing a Big Hat to this BHE. They should be escorted out by security, no? Anyway, Deacon coming with Christina to her law firm's outing at the polo match is a tacit acknowledgement that they're getting serious. And he regales her coworkers with drunken tales from the tour bus -- which they seem to enjoy, because they are human, even though it's a strange choice when you are a well-known alcoholic with rage issues. But they're charmed. He even introduces her to Rayna, which is blazingly brief and a tad loaded, but in the end they remain lovey-dovey and have a lot of sex in the big Booty Montage at the end. Oh, and Deacon's crazy hand can play the piano just fine, and he's still had no scenes with his kid because this show is doing the worst job at that story.

## Howdyville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7380-1024x768.xml)

Luke Wheeler shows up and charms Rayna, and then begins to ask Deacon if he and Rayna are still dating, before they're interrupted by Deacon's girlfriend. Will Chase suddenly reminds me of Thomas Jane in this photo, and now -- no disrespect to Ben Affleck -- I wish it WAS Thomas Jane, and that he was shoeless, because I'm scared those days are over and we'll never get to experience that kind of delicious horror ever again.

## Snoozeville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7384-1024x768.xml)

Teddy is so boring. He's trying to get a music festival off the ground, so he gets Charlie to sponsor it, and Charlie uses it as an excuse to talk to Juliette (and possibly spend time with her, since they'd have to work together). Juliette consents to a meeting and spends a lot of time stomping around hissing, but no one seems to notice, which is bizarre. EVERYONE would be watching her and talking about her fascinator and whether she took a copy of HELLO magazine to a seamstress and told her to go to town.

## Gunnarville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7387-1024x768.xml)

Zoey tells Gunnar that Sex Can't Happen Again because of Scarlett. This show would have you believe that Gunnar has never heard of the Girl Code wherein you don't sleep with your best friend/roommate's ex-boyfriend and almost-fiance. He's like, "WHAT IS THAT COCKAMAMIE RULE?!?" Even his hair is a whirlwind of confusion. This makes no sense because Gunnar is the most sensitive sunflower in the field, so he'd totally live by the Guy Code, the Girl Code, and the Flower Code. All codes are real with his soul.

## BHEville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7397-1024x768.xml)

Rayna subtly hits Tandy with one of those, "I MEAN, those AWFUL insinuations about you aren't TRUE, of COURSE, I mean, RIDICULOUS..." and Tandy takes great offense to the fact that she is fishing for a denial of guilt. But the two of them make up and then Tandy wears an expression of guilt that only makes sense if she were alone in a room, and not at a huge party full of people who are looking for any expression of guilt. Dear NASHVILLE: People are nosy. THEY WATCH. Also, Rayna's dress makes her look really boxy, while also acting as constricting symbolism of the fact that she's imprisoned at Edgehill AND her father is in ACTUAL prison and she's trapped by her inability to raise $20 million. It almost makes me miss her cavalcade of pants.

## Divotville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7398-1024x768.xml)

Juliette is totally confused about why everyone is stomping around on the grass replacing the divots, although that's obviously wrong, because I do not believe for a SECOND that this girl has not seen *Pretty Woman*. She would've had that movie transcribed on her heart while she was growing up in that trailer.

## Shoeville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7401-1024x768.xml)

But she does stomp one, in spite of herself, so we get a good look at her wedges -- which are a very sensible choice for a lawn-based event, so thank your stylist, Juliette. Also, they're super cute. She and Charlie get into fights about how she thinks he's being sleazy, and he says He's Not What You Think And Maybe He's Even Regular And Cool And Wounded And His Wife Sucks. Someone should tell Charlie that it would ring truer if he hadn't acted like a sleazy, horny dink at his anniversary party, but whatever, he's arguing that he has hidden depths and he can prove it. And here is how he proves it:

## Stableville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7411-1024x768.xml)

Charlie skips the trophy ceremony in favor of mucking out the stalls and grooming his horses, and the stablehand says he does it every time (even though he SAID he's never been to this event before, so what, does he bring his own stablehands? BYOS?). Because he's REGULAR, see. And then the stablehand busts out a gee-tar and plays one of Juliette's songs, and she sings along, and then suddenly there's a harmonica too and it's a Polo Barn All-Regular Hoedown Jamboree Man Band. This might ACTUALLY prove that his stablehands are cool and that Charlie is simply not allergic to hay.

## PS3ville

![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2013/11/IMG_7402-1024x768.jpg)

Meanwhile, Scarlett is nervous about playing for critics at The Bluebird that night -- even though in that town, and at that venue where she's sung many times, aren't you ALWAYS performing for critics even if it's unofficial? -- so she goes to Avery for comfort. They play video games, because he has a mullet so she shouldn't listen to his counsel on anything.

## Nakedville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7413-1024x768.xml)

And that, of course, turns into THIS. I don't think anyone in the world but them wanted this to happen. In fact, I'm not really rooting for Scarlett to end up with anyone. I'm CERTAINLY more interested in Avery and Juliette than these two yokels. I think... something about Scarlett makes me totally uninvested in ANY of her feelings except where Deacon is concerned, which is too bad, because Clare Bowen is a total gas on Twitter.

## Roomieville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7417-1024x768.xml)

Scarlett tells Zoey she slept with Avery and that she isn't sure what it means. Zoey explains to her that it means Avery put his Lucky in her Spencer over and over again until it got messy and they became sleepy. Zoey later ALSO hears this news from a very hopeful Avery, and then sees Gunnar wishing Scarlett well. The wheels start turning and she pulls Gunnar aside later and tells him to kiss her immediately because she was wrong and they should nail like a hammer to a two-by-four.

## Unsolivited Adviceville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7414-1024x768.xml)

Rayna has advice, too, and it's this: She sees Juliette coming back with Charlie, and infers that they're sleeping together, and tries to warn Juliette kindly that her fans may not think well of her disrupting a marriage. Although the fans of musicians on this show seem to be VERY SELECTIVE about what they notice or comment on or feel or remember or gossip about, so it's entirely possible that everyone has amnesia.

## Resentmentville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7415-1024x768.xml)

Juliette is totally offended, because she does not take advice from a woman wearing a stunt harness -- and, of course Rayna's assumption was correct in GENERAL but just not exactly TODAY, so HARUMPH. Juliette says she knows Rayna wanted Scarlett on her tour for publicity but after this display of semi-accurate judgment, the answer is Big Fat No. Can we talk about Juliette's tour? She already has Layla Grant AND Will -- aka Cowboy Chris Carmack -- opening for her. Where exactly was Scarlett going to fit? Will she actually be playing AT the opening, as in, the door to the venue?

## Wifeyville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7418-1024x768.xml)

Charlie's wife Olivia, of course, gets the requisite scene in which she is a total shrew and he gets all Sad Little Rich Boy about how she never wants to do anything or go anyplace or leave the house -- except for this, obviously, since she's here -- and she gets stereotypically nasty in a plot-convenient way and stomps off to pack up and leave the hotel. Guess who overhears? Right. This is a fairly boring way to get him back with Juliette. I know the show can't have her keep doing terrible things ALL the time -- unlike Rayna, who is never allowed to do them ever -- but Oh, Wait, He Just Married Too Young And She's Mean And He Needs The Love Of A Good Woman is a bit played out.

## Concertville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7422-1024x768.xml)

Scarlett gets dressed up in the very best that the Anthropologie sale rack of white outfits has to offer, and sings a beautiful song at the Bluebell, and Rayna is -- for once -- there to show an interest in her artist. ScarO'Co wows everyone and is the picture of sweetness and grace, and takes a second to tell Avery that maybe they don't need to label themselves yet; they can just figure it out as they go, or until she finds out that Gunnar is boning her roommate and decides she needs a revenge boyfriend.

## Laceville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7431-1024x768.xml)

I'm pretty sure that's not lined, also, which means Scarlett is flashing midriff. Which OUGHT to give her a stress rash, considering that she is allergic to things that aren't woolen.

## Shoeville Pt. 2

![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2013/11/IMG_7428-1024x768.jpg)

Hooray for the shoe cam. I think we've see these before on Juliette -- or actually, it's possible we saw them somewhere on Hayden Panettiere and I am mixing it up. Either way, I appreciate a director with commitment to footwear. In this scene, she shows up at Charlie's hotel and tells him they should work on the music fest together, because she had fun with him. And he suggests a first meeting right then in his penthouse, because his wife is gone, so they immediately run upstairs and ride each other like behatted dudes on broncos.

## Bustedville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7435-1024x768.xml)

To the surprise of no one, Olivia has second thoughts and comes to the hotel room and catches them in the act -- but they don't see her, so she slips out again and looks angry and plotty. She does not think to creep around with a cell phone to get racy evidence. ALWAYS think of the evidence, Olivia. It's the reason God invented smartphones.

## Tonsilville

![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/img_7434-1024x768.xml)

And Luke Wheeler pops by to support Rayna, agrees to put Scarlett on his tour, and plants one on Rayna. He says, essenially, that he's not doing it to get into her pants but he does look forward to seeing more of her. I had thought he'd be a love interest for Cowboy Will, but maybe not... OR MAYBE SO. I can't wait until he's in a hot, covert, and INCREDIBLY AWKWARD multisexual love triangle with Connie Britton and Chris Carmack. DON'T BREAK MY HEART, NASHVILLE.
