Maybe she's just taking back the feeling. ## Aria ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0166.xml) Aria is ogling Jake, who slept on her couch to ... make her feel better? I don't know. Her Dad is in Syracuse so I guess she didn't want to be alone, and some dude she barely knows was the right choice to make her feel safe. These girls make wonderful decisions. ## Whatsherface ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0273.xml) I can't remember, I'm sorry. But she was Bianca in "10 Things I Hate About You," so she's going to be Bianca until I remember her name. (I am trying not to Google it, on the theory that it will make my brain stronger if I can make it remember. So far it's not working.) Anyway, Bianca -- wearing clothes I could swear she stole from Spencer, even though they don't know each other -- is telling Ezra that she has a teaching job somewhere else and is going to move, and this whole episode involves Sadface Ezra trying to come to terms with Malcolm maybe leaving, and asking Spencer's mother about custody, and learning that he needs a paternity test to get anywhere with that. Since Bianca is about to leave Malcolm with him while she goes across the country to househunt or something, I'm guessing he's going to get the test, and I'm guessing he's going to find out he's not Malcolm's father. ## Hanna and the mothers ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0308.xml) Mona's confession threw a wrench in the works -- there are inconsistencies, but enough to convince the judge to set bail for Hanna's mother. Trouble is, it's a million bucks. Apparently they only need $100,000 of it to get her out. Piece of cake! Just shake down the couch cushions. ## Emily ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0332.xml) Paige wants Emily to train up so she can get a late scholarship; Emily goes to see OLTL's Kamar De Los Reyes about her swimming situation, wearing a tank top with a metallic doily on the front that I actually kind of like. The nutshell: He only took the meeting because Paige didn't tell him about Emily's shoulder; he doesn't think he can help her in time to get her to college. Frowns all around. Emily is more interesting when she's mad at people than when she's trying to achieve greatness. ## Hanna ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0378.xml) Reverend Ted catches Hanna moping on a park bench about the bail situation, and he tries to encourage her to have faith, and also to buy some shirts that don't have flaps in the back. ## Shana and Jenna ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0494.xml) Spencer and Aria hear these two whispering about a mysterious "her," which they assume is Dead or Maybe Not Dead Alison. Also, Jenna's eyesight appears to have deserted her again. When she got her surgery she said they told her she'd have "good days and bad days," but this seems like an excessively bad day. She doesn't even have a wrangler to put her in cute outfits. THE HORROR. ## Hanna and mothers ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0529.xml) Someone anonymously posted bail for Hanna's mother, so Sydney Andrews gets out of her prison orange and back into the house. Everyone is appropriately casual for this event. I wish Michael Mancini would show up, but we can't have everything. ## Shoe ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0776.xml) However, we DO see later that Sydney's first act out of prison was to shlub around the house in killer heels (with her anklet, of course). THAT'S my girl. ## Party time ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0812.xml) Paige throws Emily a surprise birthday party, and randomly, Aria's crush Jake shows up with another girl. What is he doing attending a high-school party? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ROSEWOOD. Why aren't there any high-school boys in this town other than Caleb? Why isn't Rosewood under investigation for having a cute boy deficiency? Also: Spencer's blazer is super 1985, but in a way that works on her (and would NOT on me), and that leather thing is so tight on Aria that it almost looks like she flexed holes in the sleeves, even though obviously they're meant to be there. ## Paige and Emily ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2013/08/Pretty_Little_Liars_S04E09_720p_KISSTHEMGOODBYE_NET_0911.jpg) These two are bummed out because Emily is totally not going to be able to follow her to Stanford, and they are realistic about long-distance relationships. It is, in fact, the only realistic thing that has ever happened on this show, and made me sad for them. Hooray for the writers. And everyone looks lovely. ## Mona ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_0965.xml) Mona isn't in jail because they have no proof to charge her with anything (although didn't she CONFESS? Can't they at least hold her while they look?). She calls Hanna briefly to tell her this, then skips town wearing something totally innocuous, so you know she's not going anyplace fabulous. Poor Mona's wardrobe. Won't someone rescue it? ## Shana and Jenna ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_1062.xml) Aria confronts these two about things. Shana's shirt is interesting to me. Later, thy lose sight of Jenna -- no pun intended -- and Shana tells Aria that Jenna is terrified not of Dead Alison, but of CC Drake, a.k.a. The Other Blonde Who Hasn't Been On This Season. Hopefully CC Drake doesn't get a job on another show, because they kind of need to bring that actress back at some point, since they're hanging a lot of stuff on her right now. ## Reverend Ted ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_1109.xml) Rev Ted brings Sydney some pie, and he's very sweet and sympathetic and nice, and I guess maybe they're going to kind of start sorta-dating again. Ish. Sydney also later learns Hanna's dad did NOT put up the bail, and somehow then learns that Reverend Ted did. Hanna's like, "He must really like you," which is an understatement. I am hoping it turns out he hooked up with a methhead and cooked drugs to make the cash. They could call that spinoff "Breaking Ted." ## Ambulance! ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_1221.xml) Emily sees a body floating face down in the water, and it turns out to be Jenna. Since she's blind, she MIGHT have just wandered off the pier, but Emily says her head was bleeding and she thinks someone clocked Jenna in the noggin first. But Jenna isn't dead; they take her to the hospital instead, which I hope means the girls get to trot out their fake candy striper costumes again. It should be annual. ## Sigh ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_1358.xml) Also, The Borings decide to hook up, which is the OTHER reason I think Malcolm will turn out not to be Ezra's son: It's classic TV love triangle stuff for one side to move on right when the other becomes free (and needy). ## Mona ![](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/content/files/www-gofugyourself-com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pretty_little_liars_s04e09_720p_kissthemgoodbye_net_1413.xml) Mona shows up... at Radley, the sanitarium, in her old room. She puts her purse down and runs her fingers over the letters. I don't know why, and I don't know if the circle will remain unbroken, but I do know this is wreaking havoc on some people's evidence walls. ## Red Coat ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2013/08/Pretty_Little_Liars_S04E09_720p_KISSTHEMGOODBYE_NET_1433.jpg) Here is my problem with Red Coat: If you are floating through town doing vague evil, WHY ARE YOU WEARING A BRIGHT RED COAT? Clearly when they catch this person, she/he is going to start monologuing like a fiend.
