Herein, Aria says truest thing ever in the history of this show, to Alison: "I liked you better when you were dead." Sadly, it's just in the noir hallucination.

On Monday, we'll recap the other two episodes around this, but since this is plot-lite and visually pretty, I figured I'd do this one first on its own -- it's literally JUST clothes and stylized shots and not much real plot. The look is lovely; they clearly had fun with this, and Troian Bellisario was born to be in a black-and-white period piece in which she plays a plucky lass. More importantly, this hour has inspired me to start saying, "THAT WAS THE LAST CARROT STICK," every time I finish a conversation that didn't go well. You'll see.
