She is doing her best to look super dignified in this, but I think it's a futile battle. It's patriotism vomit. That cardigan is busier than a stylist during awards season. It looks homemade, and not in that "Hey, you should have an Etsy shop" kind of way; more the, "Oh, you... have an Etsy shop? For that? That's... so thrilling." It's like someone at Ralph Lauren stole an old lady's July 4 afghan blanket design and just tossed some rings on it. Hooray for the flag and all that, but it could be done so well.

Also, why is the word POLO stamped on the lapel? I mean, I KNOW why, intellectually; it's because Ralph Lauren is self-promoting. I get it. You want everyone to know this is your work. (Although in this case: WHY GOD WHY. Nobody is seriously paying $600 to own one of these, right? They'll be on clearance for under $200 soon, surely.) But that jacket is crazy busy. The LAST thing, the very last, that it needed was another word on it.

These are apparently the closing ceremony uniforms, which were revealed back in October. It's much better, right? The hat is a tad loud, but at least the pea coat is cute enough. And the horse is less obnoxious than the word POLO.

Olympians

The pants, though, are HIDEOUS ON EVERYONE. SO BAD. Although that dude in the middle -- that's Meryl Davis's ice dancing partner Charlie White, right? He looks like Evan Peters from American Horror Story, and those pants basically just delivered a package from him to all of us. If you get my drift.

Also, OF COURSE, the sweaters here say POLO across the front of them and I when I saw these back in October when they debuted these closing ceremony unis, I thought for a second, "Are these from the summer games? Wait, polo isn't an Olympic sport." It's so ME ME ME from Ralph Lauren. The horse, whatever. If you need your logo -- and I know other people put theirs on stuff and RL isn't the only one doing it -- then the horse should be as far as you go. A small horse, though. Don't make it about you, Ralph Lauren. It's about the Games and the athletes. And I guess their groins, based on how the pants look. Oy.

Well, here's one way to ensure Canada will take the gold (AGAIN) in the event that really counts: winter clothes. If you make a sculpted Olympic athlete look terrible... WHAT ARE YOU DOING OVER THERE, RALPH? [Photos: Ralph Lauren]
