This is NOT the same designer as her Met Ball gown, by the way (although it IS the one from her vein skirt). It might actually be quite lovely, if not for those HUGE see-through chunks on the side that completely drop-kick whatever mojo the rest of it was working.

I just... it's like she's Elizabeth Banks as Dita Von Teese in My Week With Marilyn, a straight-to-Netflix Manson story that never saw the light of a theater because Michelle Williams sued the pants off it.

And THIS is what she wore to the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The matchy red platforms poking out are too much, but the gown itself is SO attractive on her. I'm not saying she has to do this all the time; just that I'm glad she's folding in a few simple-but-striking items amid the raging patterns. It's the fashion equivalent of a deep, bracing breath.

And she pulled this out for Letterman. Foxy! A bit more Jennifer Lawrence to me than Elizabeth Banks, but I can't complain. At least it doesn't look like it's menacing her. Seriously, that Met Ball gown was a hostage situation. The FBI should have been called.
