In fairness, some of this drab, shapeless garb is because she's wearing a coat or a cape or something. And I do appreciate a cape. But the head-styling is really contributing to the Melanie Wilkes visual. It's all just so plain. We all enjoy a cape, Keira, but don't hide your light under one. Especially a boring one. This is Valentino! There is NO WAY a more exciting cape was not available somewhere.

I wish we had a better look at this. It might've been prettier.

That lipstick is gorgeous. It's basically a neutral, but with enough hue to keep her coloring lively. See? IT IS POSSIBLE EVERYONE. I also have an absurd fondness for this dress. She looks like the most exotic bird. I wonder if the netting is a slight step too far on an already busy outfit.

Now THAT is a cape. It's attached to the dress, but... again, SURELY someone there could've done Keira a solid. By which I mean a pattern. ZING! WORDPLAY!

This is basically ... exactly what you expect from Valentino. It's SUPER heavy but she's carrying it well.

This glimpse has me concerned there is a pizza element to the gown that I couldn't detect in the other picture. Perhaps that's one argument in favor of the cape. Which DOES look pleasantly dramatic in this construct, and yet she was right to remove it for the red carpet.

She looks very French and cool in a silhouette that would flatter almost no one. And he looks like himself, but with wacky glasses I can't cosign. They look like he made them from licorice.

That is objectively hideous, to me -- just really, really aggravating my eyes -- but somehow she also looks fine in it.

She got off easy in basic black. That looks beautiful on her.

Dripping with diamonds. LIKE A BOSS.
