Keira Knightley in Nina Ricci and Bendypants Cumbershirts

I think this is forgiving and flattering and pretty on Keira, but really, her face is doing yeoman's work for her look. She looks GORGEOUS to me. (Bendertwitch Cumbergroup looks lovely, too.)

Jennifer Aniston in Zuhair Murad

DAMN, Aniston is tan. SO too. Perhaps too tan. And of course in black. I will note, however, that this length is a departure for her, and I think it's flattering and welcome.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Oscar de la Renta

I LOVE this. Or I did until I started wondering if those sequins maybe made her look like she got splashed when a nearby bottle of champagne opened too vigorously, and then I told myself to shut up because she looks fantastic.

Reese Witherspoon in Ralph Lauren

This is flattering and nice on Reese, but she sort of looks like she's going to a fancy luncheon rather than a Gowned Event. She DOES have a history of pulling off cocktail LENGTH at a formal party (remember her amazing yellow dress/red shoes combo the year she broke up with Ryan Phillippe?) but I don't know that I think this DRESS feels fancy enough? Let's talk it out.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji

A bit predictable from Octavia, I fear. Hopefully, she's saving the really splashy Shoji for later.

Felicity Jones in Prada

This is from the same collection we recently saw on Jessica Chastain, and apparently I like it, because I liked that AND I like this.

Felicity Jones in Prada

Although I wish the detailing looked slightly less like rickrack. And her hair-styling is, if I may be so bold, mildly deranged, I think

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors, and John Krasinski

I also think SHE looks great. I had a chocolate croissant earlier today and it's possible the combo of sugar, carbs, and fat has put me in an usually good mood, but come on.

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors,

SO GOOD. With the green clutch? TEACH ME YOUR WAYS, EMILY BLUNT.

Hilary Swank in Antonio Berardi

I will say that I think this is exactly the right direction for her. She looks good, right? (Am I right?)

Laura Dern

First off: I actually think this dress is great on her, and she's really well styled. But if only someone had told her not to stand like she was immobilized! I keep imagining her hopping away.

Michelle Monaghan in J Mendel

That leg slit is TOO HIGH. I think this dress is actually gorgeous on her, and she basically looks great, but I worry that much of a slit takes us down to Nightgownville.

Zendaya in Christian Siriano

Okay. So I DON'T know why Zendaya was there, but she looks nice, if perhaps a wee bit like she took a detour through a chicken farm.

Jenny Slate in Alberta Ferretti

This is a lot of dress! I don't think it's bad, but ever since one of you mentioned Barbara Mandrell during the CMAs, she's been on my mind, and I can kind of see this floating into frame on her variety hour.

Fugs and Fabs: Everyone Else at the AMPAS Governors' Awards
Prepare yourself. This is not some slideshow full of randoms, that you read on the train and are all, "ugh, I forgot the mobile version of GFY doesn't show me the titles of these slides. Who is THIS random shitshow?!" No. You will recognize ALMOST ALL of these people because the Academy doesn't invite you to pre-awards season parties unless they think you might be invited to an actual awards season party. Which means: AT LEAST B+ List. Let's dig in. [Photos: INF]
