I love how frisky the Cannes weather can be. I probably feel this way because I am not IN it trying to look nice.

I just love this angle on this gown. Cannes, much like the various royal tours, always yields really striking work from the Getty photographers.

I am of mixed feelings about the head-styling. Part of me wonders if something slightly softer -- more Dita Von Teese -- would have given this the unimpeachable glam factor it wants, although I do understand the temptation not to do too much to compete with the gown. Which I love. It's PERFECT for this venue.

Well, I'll say this: It's the best Rodarte I've seen in a while, which may be conditional praise, but it is also sincere. UNTIL...

HOLY... that is not even a pizza. That's just bread with sauce.

Nope.

She NABS, y'all.

It's fine -- not very Versace to me, actually, but that's neither here nor there -- but what gets me is the whole flesh-toned lipstick thing. I say it a lot, but: Your lips are SUPPOSED to be a different color than the rest of your face.

It's certainly striking from behind, which as we all know is a Cannes specialty.

I like the liquid-look fabric. This whole outfit looks to me like a special-effect -- like when Robert Patrick in Terminator 2 would be in the middle of morphing from metal into human. In that vein, I like the middle of the dress and am waiting for the rest of it to catch up.

Naturally, I hate the back. She looks like a very expensive circus performer.

Buckle your bedsheets, kids!

This would be beautiful, if it were not something I could get delivered from Papa John's with breadsticks. (Background: We decided the sheers broke our brains and so we'd discuss pizza instead. It'll pass. I might move onto crackers.)

What a pretty, pretty idea, until you bring in the saltines.

I actually don't mind the ethereal sheers HERE as much as I do the matching beige clodhoppers.

Does this feel like the top is in photonegative, or something? Shouldn't the bits WITHOUT a pattern on it be the parts that are covered?

This is totally beautiful. I wish Sienna Miller had worn it instead.

That is a nice frock that REALLY takes a hit from the matchy cardigan. It's just... a lot.
