It breaks my heart that NONE of our subs had this outfit from the front,so this link will have to suffice. The pants, believe it or not, aren't that bad from the front view but from this angle are very grandpa and unflattering, and the shirt had to have cost $6 and come rolled up in a plastic bag with three of its siblings. Other people wore cocktail dresses to this Variety event, and she looks like the hipster busboy.

And then this isn't so bad. I would've liked a pulled-back hairdo, perhaps a bun with some softness, so that the bodice wasn't overwhelmed. But this has a calm elegance to it. Age-wise, it might say Winslet more than Stewart, but grubbiness-wise it's such an improvement.

We somehow missed this from a Berlin Breaking Dawn: Part Unnecessary premiere. On this one, I am torn: Sometimes I think it is stunning and impactful, and other times I think she might need something that gives her more of a waist. But... yeah, I think I'm coming down on the side of loving it. So gold. So sparkly. And so grown-up, but not in a stodgy way. Y'all know I love it when a starlet gets her wings.

I also don't really like those shoes in and of themselves, but I DO like that she wore them with this, because it works in a piece of her dark side. Girlfriend will always be a little bit rock and roll, and that's okay, much like being a lumberjack is.
