This Oscar de la Renta is VERY dramatic, and bless her for wearing sleeves in winter -- she's human! -- but I'm not sure this is working for me as-is. That is SUCH a tough fabric for a dress that's cut this way, and you can see why when you look at the top part of this. And the bottom... I just don't love the way that second tone of red is coming in there. Conceptually I'm fond of this but in reality it's not landing. Like a Valentine that's not quite the right size for its envelope, or something.
From this angle, though? Yes. I wouldn't be surprised if she picked this dress in the exact moment she turned to the side and saw what it did. She should've just side-stepped around all night.
And then she wore an upholstered chair-back.
And THEN she wore flares. Terrible, terrible flares, the likes of which I believe were worn by Barbara Harris in the 1976 "Freaky Friday," and they were semi-era-appropriate when I saw that movie and I STILL didn't like them. But the coat? The coat, I will gladly liberate if it needs me.
And then she wore these shoes. (This is actually from December; it slipped through my fingers then, but I HAVE IT NOW and can ogle their drama in peace.)
