I wish I liked this one better. She looks like she's shouldering a Hula Hoop for some kind of strange welcome ritual.

I am not a particular fan of THIS, either. The bodice isn't doing her figure justice. I did get a giggle out of the shoes -- they remind me vaguely of the ones Liesl wears in "The Sound of Music" during "Sixteen Going On Seventeen," and now all I can picture is POTUS and FLOTUS leaping around a gazebo in the rain.

That color is gorgeous. The dress itself isn't transcendent, but at least the pattern is fun. (Blue poppies, or something?)

I love this. He is NOT groping her; he's holding a hand there to keep her skirt from blowing up. He's MODESTY-wrangling. It's EXTREMELY considerate. Well done, Mr. President.

[Fugs and Fabs: Michelle Obama in Cuba and ArgentinaInterestingly, and you've probably read this somewhere, Michelle Obama didn't wear a Cuban-born designer while IN Cuba. She did don Narciso Rodriguez to get off the plane in Argentina, though. And certainly she's not required to tailor her choices to what designer was born where; it's mostly only noteworthy because they do tend to put a lot of thought into this stuff, and nothing (likely) happens in her wardrobe by accident. So I can't imagine it escaped any of them that she didn't wear Narciso in Cuba, and thus I wonder if she had one in tow for the State Dinner, for example, and the Naeem was a backup, which she went to for any number of reasons (fit, travel wrinkles, weather -- who knows). We'll never know, I guess.
