In this shot, at least, I love the dress (it's Jason Wu). I also like her with the longer less severe pixie -- she has this cherubic, innocent face, and when she has no hair it makes her look more fragile somehow, like she might burst into tears at any moment -- but all combed over to one side like this, the hair becomes very Crispin Glover in Charlie's Angels. Or at least headed that way. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, but I think we can all agree as a society that if you are ever going to be Crispin Glover, you pick the George McFly version.
And THEN, as soon as Michelle was snapped walking around, she became a general in the Geriatric Knickers Brigade. Sigh. This dress had so much to love; did it HAVE to come without a lining?
Poor Jason Segel -- all the headlines I saw said, "Michelle Williams Looks Radiant After Breakup," and I keep wanting to pat him on the head and say, "It's okay, Jason. She's a REALLY good actress. I'm sure she's secretly eating some feelings." But she does look fantastic. The shoes, I could live without, but the textured Burberry dress is super interesting and BOY is she grinning.
And so coy.

Is she sticking her tongue out at us?

Is she... VAMPING? Hark, a vixen!
I'm just glad she seems happy. Since Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams has been someone whom I'm always just RELIEVED to see smile in a genuine way. Hopefully Segel can knock out those HIMYM episodes and then move to New York and make the kind of grand romantic gestures that he parodied in Friends With Benefits (he's in the movie-within-the-movie), which is secretly quite funny and stars Michelle's Oz co-star Mila Kunis, and THAT brings us back around to the topic. Michelle: Funky dress, happy smile, hooray for Jen Lindley. Ever may she triumph.
