I know that looks like the Jolly Green Giant's umbilical cord, but I think this whole thing is sleek and fab on her. If perhaps a tad snug in parts.

I mostly like this, but I wish for her sake that she could have a do-over on the photographs. This is one seriously miserable HRC supporter who either doesn't have a poker face, or doesn't feel like deploying it. I hear you Lena.

From what I've seen, Cynthia has way cooler taste than this eruption of inadequacy. I love you, Cynthia, so leave this road to the tragiques.

She is insanely gorgeous, but the bodice here seems somehow... too small? Is that it?

The Angela Basset hair is SO severe on her, but the outfit is fine.

The closer you get, the more you can appreciate the pattern. I REALLY enjoy this, actually, after having initially been afraid it was solid grey and sad. It's NOT. I had to peer closer. Is that a metaphor for right now?

This is 85 percent of the way there; the low sides aren't cut to flatter.

I love this. Especially the accessories. And her hair is amazing.

I think I like this too, actually.

It's not the worst? It's like when you order the chicken at one of these things. It's cooked, and you can swallow it, but you'll wish you'd picked the other thing.

There are at least two elements too many in this. My head can't take it.

She looks good. I hope so much that she's happy. I'm not saying that for any reason, by the way -- I haven't heard anything, and it's not a comment on her facial expression; I just still stop and think about the guts it must have taken for the onetime pinnacle of macho achievement to go public with this truth. And she is truly lovely.

This is quite a nice jumpsuit, I'll admit. If it were a gown, we wouldn't care that much that we can't see her feet; why is it so much more distracting, then, when it happens with pants? It IS, though. I can't deny that. But I also don't know how to tailor a fix. Not every pair of pants needs to be pegged and ankle-length; what could she do here?

Those shoes are making me crazy. They give the illusion that she's standing on the outsides of her feet.

Very nice dress. But I think doubling down on her bangs was not the answer.

This is a vest over a dress, both of which are loud, but they work astonishingly well together -- something I largely attribute to her charms. She didn't wimp out on the shoes, either. Y'all THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE.

And then Bono showed up, looking exactly like Bono, albeit a slightly befuddled one who probably can't sort out why Man of the Year is a thing that needed to happen. As I carped about in an earlier post, can't women keep this one thing?

Joe Jonas also came, because sure. I actually like his wacky suit.

Her full outfit included some pants in a great color but a problematic cut. Amy presented Bono his award, which... I hope she did it AS Leslie Knope. This is a gorgeous photo of her. I'm in love with her hair that color.

We covered Cara already, but it bears repeating that I still hate what she's wearing. Elizabeth looks very good, and if she's not going to be up for any awards, can we please agree as a society that she needs to present something at all the ceremonies? We need her fashion sense now more than ever.

This is from the other events, of which there were a few: a conference, a breakfast, even a welcome the day before. Several of those photos aren't in our subscription, which bums me out, because Jaime King looked deliciously Lemon Breeland adjacent, Keke Palmer brought out a super cute and bright Alice + Olivia minidress, and Kaley Cuoco wore a flared jumpsuit we probably needed to discuss. ALAS.
But, this photo: I love this cornucopia of patterns. I haven't gotten fully into Issa's show Insecure -- I think I need to marathon it rather than watch it weekly -- but I'm glad it got picked up because she's extremely smart and HBO needs fresh voices, and she looks awesome here. Jenna Lyons (right) is wearing a jacket that needs to be mine.

This is primly cute.

I love everything here except Ahna's shoes, maybe. But she made up for it with this dress at a different event, which is SO CUTE.

I love these two. Mary routinely gives me the giggles on "Last Man On Earth," and Ted Danson is funny in basically everything he's ever done. "The Good Place" and "Speechless" are my indispensable new comedies of the year.

Foxy AF, as the kids say.

Ashley was there to debut her Barbie. Who looks a bit more like Demi Lovato to me, but I'm thrilled to see Barbie breaking away from... you know. Barbie.

Once Jessica adjourns the Conclave of the Jessicas and convenes the Council of Morgans, she can discuss with Alex that these overalls look like ski pants.

She looks rather nice. I don't like this outfit that much, necessarily, but it's grown-up and professional and the hair gives her some edge. I feel like we're evolving from Hipster Twee, basically, and that's a good thing.

I love all the things Ariel says about steeling herself against online bullies, of which she's had countless. But that also doesn't mean I can sign off on this shirt. It's a clubbing shirt, if anything, rather than a Daytime Conference of Awesome Professional Ladies Giving Each Other Life Advice. Wear whatever you want to the club, but I feel like there are LOADS of people who would love to get you into something better. LET THEM.
