I like the idea that, a couple of years ago, the folks at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts got together and were all, "You guys? Having[ one major awards show](https://gofugyourself.com/tag/baftas?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) isn't enough. Let's throw some random other ones in the United States!" Now, I say "a couple of years ago," but [*The Hollywood Reporter* claims that this event has been happening for twenty-two years](https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2013/11/10/sacha-baron-cohen-pranks-bafta-la-britannia-awards/3488393/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)[,](https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2013/11/10/sacha-baron-cohen-pranks-bafta-la-britannia-awards/3488393/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) so...just imagine that meeting with everyone wearing plaid and Doc Martens. Also according to THR, at this particular event this weekend, Sasha Baron Cohen apparently did a "hilarious" "prank" involving knocking over a woman "in a wheelchair" which sounds very "delightful" indeed. Don't get me started on him. DO get me started on what all the ladies were wearing, however.
