That is flat-out adorable and I wish so much that she had trotted out a cooler shoe than that tired old thing.
This is agreeably funky, and that blue color is STUNNING on her. I was going to suggest that the makeup fell flat for me...
... but it looks much better in this shot, so who knows. I still might think matching her eye shadow to her mono-lapel takes away from it a bit.
I... dispute the necessity of this topknot. Completely. The dress is okay, but looks a bit like knockoff Chanel tweed, and I think it's pulling weirdly on her chest. It's a great IDEA, though. I thought I was going to like it a LOT in the first five seconds I spent with it, and then doubts crept in. Like dating.
Another poignantly timed OdlR. I'm sure a lot of that is accidental, but SNIFFLE AGAIN HERE I GO. I wish I liked it better. I DO like the top. I think ... possibly the rest of her seems haphazard enough that it's making the whole THING feel a little sloppy.
Okay, I'm done with the flower-bud platform pumps. Please hide them in a box that says, "Reconsider in 2020." The dress is fine, though. I'm not sure it's as dressy as I would've expected from a current cover girl and honoree.
And whoever suggested wearing lipstick in the shade Old World Consumptive should be forced to eat the entire supply.
I think I like this, but man, I cannot figure out what the dress code was for this sucker. THIS seems super casual, like she's going to a Paley Festival panel for her show...
... and then Nikki Reed and Paulson and others are in total gowns. It goes without saying that her hair is a chicken-fried mess, but my dilemma is the gown itself: I think possibly it's a messysh execution of a very nice idea that other masters have done better.
Julianne was EXTREMELY excited to remove the apron for her boyfriend and reveal she had cooked that pot roast totally naked.
She is ALSO a cover girl/honoree and she's SO GORGEOUS and this is sartorial narcolepsy.
This is going to show up in a Buzzfeed piece about the worst bridesmaid dresses of all time.
This is Kooksville but I like it that way. She's like an ode to wreaths, and I do love a wreath. Once Decorative Gourd Season Motherf*ckers ends, we get Decorative Wreath Season, and oh, the fresh merrymaking that will ensue.
PAISLEY. I love a good paisley. IS this a good paisley? I'm going to say yes, but it's tinged with doubt, as is her face.
The pattern says RROWR, but the rosette and the shoes say she just won first prize in a pottery contest. at a Taos art fair.
I rather like this, but yes, I'd have played with the shoes. Having said that, I will present without comment an excerpt I found today of a YA book she alleges to have written and which is coming out... soonish? Here you go.
