I wish Viola had walked the red carpet, because she might look really fantastic. As is, I'm stuck with pictures of her arriving on-stage, which makes it hard to tell entirely what's what. But I THINK I really like this. She tends to go Big Ball Gown for these things, which is obviously fine with ME, but it's also nice to see her change it around a bit.

She also didn't walk the red carpet. GUYS. Come on. You get the clothes. You're handing out awards. Do the carpet. You can do it QUICKLY.
I might have had notes on this. That fabric reminds me of a VERY 1990 off-the-shoulders, flared-skirt knee-length formal dress I wore in eighth or ninth grade, which isn't necessarily a BAD thing. Just... memories. The gown itself has a hem I don't like much, and seems overall to be the kind of thing actresses change into as their third gown for their wedding odyssey.

Shonda looks great, and very well coordinated.

Hate that horizontal seam on her thighs -- this dress has enough going on; what is the POINT of it but to add noise?

This looks too tight on her chest. The thing is, for them not to fall down, people probably DO err on the side of tighter when it comes to strapless dresses. My solution tends to be: not wearing them. But that isn't always an option. Well, I mean, it is for ME, but maybe the celebs just -- like toddlers -- get what they get and can't get upset.

I like the idea of this, but the shirt really, really looks like a sale piece from Chicos.

Greg was up for an award for Back on Board. He didn't win, but he does look sterling. Remember when he hit his head on that springboard? That was... it's one of those bizarre moments I am always SO AFRAID OF when I watch diving, especially with the platform, but which you think won't ever actually happen. Oh, that was the worst.

He's in The Big Short, so he must have been excited.

Dapper.

"Always," whispered Snape.

This dress is a total throwaway for me. She glommed it up with her jewelry, but it's just utterly mediocre and failed to withstand her being seated all night either in the audience or at the piano.

But... wow. Have you ever seen lazier wig work on her? That is so slipshod. I could check my makeup in the reflection off her hairline glue.
