The Prince Of Wales And The Duchess Of Cornwall Visit Canada - Day 2

Apparently, this was in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the Military Families Resource Centre. And I can't tell if we're meant to conclude that this place provides nutritional information or is just a wonderful place to buy your Fruit of the Loom briefs. I certainly hope Charles was briefed on this. I mean, no offense to Nova Scotia's burgeoning human-vegetable industry, but Australia and New Zealand rolled out a LOT of nicer carpets for Kate and William. Poor Chuck.

Apparently these were at the farmer's market in Halifax. I am... not sure those are entirely flattering either? Although I love them, and I hope Charles was amused.

Camilla might not have appreciated this nod to her roots. By which I mean her HAIR roots.

The Prince Of Wales And The Duchess Of Cornwall Visit Canada - Day 1

This was the day they arrived, Charles looking very smart and Camilla looking fine but a bit bland perhaps. Again, though, it's not fair, because Kate blew off that damn plane to New Zealand looking like a vision in red, and there was no way Camilla could risk looking like she was trying to evoke that. She looks... eminently suitable, basically.

"CHECK OUT MY LADY."

At his "Welcome to Canada" ceremony, Charles expressed a keen desire to understand why photographs are framed in strange ways.

Laughing and pointing: two things Fug Nation loves.

"What's all tit then -- I MEAN THIS. WHAT'S ALL THIS THEN."

"Don't look up, don't look up..."

I LOVE this on Camilla, though. It's a terrific color and I think she looks marvelous. We also need to acknowledge how much she loves a hat feather, because here she is with one -- and JUST the one. Like she nearly forgot about her feather fetish and had Charles glue one very, very precariously just before they left.

"But what if I were to sneeze at it very gently, Millycuddles? Would it hold, do you think?"

"Oh, good fun, Prince George will love picking this up and biting it and then throwing it on the floor and then biting it again NOW PLEASE."

"Tiddlywinks, DO we have to give him the moose, do you think? I just had rather a saucy idea for later...."

"Thank you, Halifax. This trip was is ducky. WHAT HO, do you see what I did? Take THAT, "Comedic" Queen Impersonator We Technically Don't Know Is Coming Because We Aren't In PEI Yet!"

The Prince Of Wales And The Duchess Of Cornwall Visit Canada - Day 3

Charlottetown is the capital of PEI, and Charles visited the "centre for applied science and technology at Holland College" and got to bang a peg into something wooden with a massive mallet. I suspect this was all the therapy he needed to handle Veggiegate. (Actually, I feel like Chuck probably totally rolled with that. The man loves a garden full of fresh veg, for one thing, and for another, that's just crazy enough to work.)

He CERTAINLY seems stoked by his mallet. I hope he got to keep it. Imagine the festive holiday croquet games. Or the duels he can have with Wills and his spear.

This is not my favorite on Camilla, either. Charles looks smart in his grey suit, but that minty thing is a glorified cardigan. Even Mr. Rogers would be all, "Hmm, too frumpy."

Well, who doesn't love a little tartan-and-argyle? Also, doesn't that sound like it should be naughty slang for something? "Come on up for some of the ol' tartan-and-argyle, yeah?"

Wills and Kate also got to meet an Anne of Green Gables, and she looked as delighted as this one does. I feel that Camilla would make a great Rachel Lynde, don't you? If you've not seen the musical, Anne sings a really funny, melodramatic apology song in which she throws herself at Mrs. Lynde's feet and begs things lie, "Please, Mrs. LYNDE, your rage RESCIND," and, "I don’t deserve the human race // Just make my headstone commonplace // And print my name in lower case // Without an “e”…just leave a space…" and Mrs. Lydne is so moved that she runs away weeping. (HOLLA, memory banks! I have no idea what day it is, but I remember songs from my sixth grade musical.) And I like imagining Kate or Cressida or Bea or whoever having to apologize to Camilla for something thusly.

The Prince Of Wales And The Duchess Of Cornwall Visit Canada - Day 4

This is a very odd tour. Now they're throwing paper airplanes in Winnipeg? Charles has this look on his face that is rather like, "I fear this tour is lacking in gravitas." Also, apparently Camilla owns MULTIPLE coats that just look like house dresses. Maybe she loses her powers if she isn't wearing a wreath of some sort on her head.

I am pretty sure you're definitely NOT supposed to poke a polar bear with a stick, you guys?

Fugs and Fabs: Prince Charles and Camilla in Canada, Days 1-4
I don't know if Canada just didn't want another royal tour so soon after Kate and William, or what, but aside from meeting vegetables, Charles and Camilla apparently had to sit through a theatre show in Prince Edward Island in which Anne of Green Gables had a conversation with a drag impersonator of the Queen. I don't know who approved that catastrophic idea, but if you ask me, it has that Josie Pye's name written all over it. [Photos: Getty]
