Shailene Woodley in Elie Saab

This is good on her. It's not too over the top, but it's not boring, either.

And the somewhat-athletic neckline and back suit Shailene's general aura.

This also feels pleasantly streamlined -- I told you we all needed leather skirts for fall! -- and those shoes are a delight.

In fact, Shailene's non-boring footwear delights me in general, as does the purple of this dress. I'm not sure I'm madly in love with the neck-bib portion, but only because it reminds me of flannel Lanz nightgowns from my childhood, which I loved, but one of which I sadly and accidentally set on fire. (I was NOT wearing it at the time, but I HAD draped it across the heater in my bathroom while I had my bath, so it would be warm and cozy when I put it on, a trick I learned from Laura Ingalls Wilder. Children, do not try that at home.)
