Chloe Sevigny

THIS DRESS. She's got the shoulder of a sister-wife and the visible crotch of a starlet. It's if Boobs Legsly mated with Chloe's Big Love character Nicki Grant.

Rumer Willis

However, Chloe's joyous romp on the wrong side of Wacktown's tracks is a VACATION IN PARADISE compared to this. The SLEEVES are ATTACHED BY HER RIGHT BOOB. And they're half-sheer. Perhaps she misunderstood and thought she was suppose to WEAR an American horror story.

Amanda Peet

In contrast, Amanda Peet looks like she popped over on her way home from finishing the November issue of Sensible magazine.

Franka Potente

I thought those were wrinkles, but no, there is an actual railway line running across her breast.

Sarah Paulson

Okay, I actually think this is quite awesome -- and she was smiling in other pictures, but this one showed off the unexpected green color the best. The feather-flowers struck me as potentially goofy at first, until I really looked, and now they're like pretty, dramatic bird fireworks. I am not selling this, I can tell. Also, bird fireworks are a bad idea. Nobody make those, please. The dress, though, is compelling to me. I couldn't wear it, but I am enjoying that somebody else did.

Lily Rabe

Not much there there, with this -- but we arrived from Bird Fireworks, so it was always going to be a comedown.

Jessica Lange

Tasteful, restrained, classy... great for actual Jessica Lange; terrible for the Jessica Lange in my head who is one part her character on last season, one part Faye Dunaway, and one part Kristen Wiig's impersonation of Katharine Hepburn.

Emma Roberts

I wish I could've seen this whole outfit. I also wish the skirt stopped where the actual fabric part does. We can't always get what we want.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Hmm. I might wish this were ACTUALLY strapless and had a kick-ass statement necklace with it, instead of the barely visible netting. Then again, that might be holding it up and in place so that there's no tugging required. Tough choice. I might still be on Team Necklace.

Evan Peters

Dapper! Not sure about the brown-tipped shoes when he chose black accessories elsewhere, but it's just nice to see a guy make an effort.

Chris Colfer

Not that there is anything WRONG with keeping it simple sometimes; it's just that Chris, who is usually pretty stylish, looks like he's at an entirely different party than Evan, or Zachary Quinto...

Zachary Quinto

... who looks very nice indeed. The glasses fit his face a little strangely, maybe, but otherwise something about the entire package is giving me a pleasant Schmidt vibe. And Zachary Quinto is plenty pleasant on his own, but Schmidt Vibrations are never unwelcome.

Naya Rivera

Oooh, yes, she brought the drama. She probably needed to finish it with stronger lipstick, but I enjoy that the blouse looks like a modern vixen's take on an Elizabethan ruff. Like, this girl knows QEI wants to knock her block off for an idle flirtation with one of her favorites, and she doesn't care. She will flirt anyway. And maybe bed him. And then be abandoned because he had to go marry a lady of a particular station, so she'd go key his favorite saddle, and bond with QEI over what a douchelord he turned out to be, and then they'd be besties and she'd still have her head.

Georgia King

Speaking of needing dramatic lips... Georgia has an inherent sweetness to her that doesn't jibe with a dramatic dress unless she takes some makeup risks.

Lea Michele

This is... basically a nightie. It's a NICE nightie, though, and her hair looks great...

Lea Michele

But from the side it looks like she just realized -- the hard way -- that her boobs are growing more and more conical every time she tells a lie.

Cory Monteith and Lea Michele

Also, these kids are apparently still together and happy, AND she has him looking quite sharp, so two cone-boobs up to them.

Chloe Sevigny

I just wanted to end with this. Oh Chloe. You amazing loon, you.

Fugs and Fabs: The American Horror Story: Asylum Premiere
I'm impossibly excited for this to return, and will be very disappointed if it isn't openly deranged; totally uneven, to the point where it's both awful and amazing within the same hour; full of Jessica Lange and Chloe Sevigny going toe-to-toe on-screen, because they are two people who can turn pretty much any script into watchable TV. In fact, I like to think the Sev's dress here is illustrative of the Ryan Murphy oeuvre: Compulsively watchable even when it might be a train wreck. [Photos: Getty, WENN]
