I feel like she even KNOWS it's not great hair. Is this the face of a girl who's super stoked about what's happening up there? it's not aggressively crazy, or anything, like some of her updos have been... it seems more like surrender. Like no one could figure out what to do with it, and maybe they're shooting already or something and it had been teased and was very tired, and so she just kind of went, "Eh, whatever, I'm over it." I just want cute, personable folk to pull it all together. IS THAT SO WRONG?
The satin two-piece shorts ensemble isn't helping. I am willing to investigate what else might go with that top, but sleep shorts are never the answer. I don't care if they match.
I would have liked this so much more if the whole THING were lined with yellow and not just certain parts. Or even if the whole thing were lined with white. Or just lined with whatever. Lined. Lining is the future. Vote LINING in your midterm elections.
Nice jacket,, strange shirt underneath, and... I'm concerned those are leggings. VOTE NO ON LEGGINGS IN THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS.
So, Aly and AJ Michalka are making music together again, and as such, are making random red-carpet rounds. AJ -- or Amanda, sometimes -- looks so much like she could be Carrie Underwood's little sister. I just noticed that. But this outfit feels like a quickie attempt to be Joan Holloway Harris retro, and it's not landing.
You might remember Aly Michalka from the CW's Hellcats, which was a total guilty pleasure to me (I cannot believe a show about cheerleading didn't succeed on that network). However, even if you remember Aly from that, you are probably looking at this photo and thinking, "What? Who is this? I have never seen that person in a Hellcats uniform inexplicably strumming a guitar in prison." And that is because at this premiere from about 95 percent of the angles, she is totally anonymous-looking. It's WEIRD. Maybe she strategically does not want people thinking, "Hey, I saw that person in a Hellcats uniform inexplicably strumming a guitar in prison."
It goes to show how flummoxed i am that I haven't even mentioned the jumpsuit yet. I have one word for it: Stop. Another word: No. And a third: ACK. And a fourth: Stopnoack.
From THIS angle I can ID her...
And then we come back here and it's like, "Nope, try again." In photos from other recent appearances she looks more like herself even WITH the brown hair, but I legit did not recognize her here. And that concludes today's treatise on People From Dead CW Shows That Only Three People Watched And Jessica And I Are Two Of Them.
You SHOULD sit through their new music video, though. IT IS INSANE. It's super pretentious -- before the music starts, it's 3:30 of breathy voice-over, walking, hothouses, slow motion blinking, more walking, some running, flags, rain on horses, lace outfits, parasols, and a weird shot that's clearly an outtake of one of them trying to walk on a fence and losing her balance. Jessica called it "a 45-minute long perfume commercial." You have to experience it.
