This is about as basic as it gets. It's not unflattering, but it's not dazzling. It's not awful, but it's not... well, it's not ANYTHING, really, is it? It's just sort of there, and she's accordingly not naked, but I'm not sensing much of an effort.

The scalloped ruffles are SORT OF hiding the wrinkles in the satin. Sort of. A little. But considering how little Alicia goes out to these things anymore, it's just nice to see her smiling and not wearing knee socks. And she does look pretty, and shockingly ageless.

Oh, Ty. I love Phil Dunphy, but in this ensemble he looks like a doddering professor. Which... I mean, I'm not mad at him. I'd still consider having a crush on that professor. It IS still Phil Dunphy in there. But I keep expecting him to go back to the late-'80s high school screwball romp whence he came, in which he attempts to teach math and/or sings a song about reproduction to a bunch of students who get a little sweatier about it than is strictly allowed.
