Danielle won the Pat Tillman award for service. She played basketball for Notre Dame while I was a student there GO IRISH and then went into the military. In Baghdad, she lost her hand and half of her arm -- you can see her prosthesis begin at her left elbow -- and on the telecast she told the story of how her cohorts knew the missing hand was the one that wore her wedding rings and so they WENT BACK TO THE SCENE and dug around until they found her hand and recovered her rings. That is... Reader, I cried.
