She's playing the evil stepmother of Anna Kendrick, and let me just say... I am in, for that alone. Also, she looks great, as usual.
That top looks like she blew her nose on it all day and it dried that way. It is some HIDEOUS crimped two-ply fug. I would accept it ONLY if she were having a tawdry romp with a particularly foxy, well-bathed pirate, when his enemies stormed the ship, and she had to climb up the sails and ride down them topless to boot their nemeses over the side and the sail just sort of came off with her and then they got married because why not. That's the ONLY WAY. And even then I'd be like, "Maybe borrow a coat instead."
And apparently Alyssa is volunteering to be the mother of the bride at that wedding. She had a baby three months ago. Going someplace dressed as "Bar Wench, Please Kick Off Edna's Pumps And Slide Me My Moonshine" is not the answer.
That guy is enjoying not having to be Don Draper.
She looks nice. I wish Alyssa Milano had found a way to wear this. It's so much nicer than the pine-colored hellbox she's wearing.
If you ever watch the Tonys, at some point in the last two years you probably saw Lilla perform as Annie, because she revived the role on Broadway in 2012. And I have to imagine she is RELIEVED AS HELL not to be in that wig anymore. From what I can tell, her age has been scrubbed from the Internet, but I'm assuming we can go with Early Teen, and her dress is very cute. Well played, Lilla.
Tin foil is not made for garments, pet. Also, hire a crotch wrangler.
There are a few ex-soapies in this -- Tammy, Mackenzie, Billy Magnusson -- ad I'm always happy when they succeed in life, because people's biases are so often stacked against actors coming out of that medium (UNFAIRLY, I might add, as Julianne Moore of "As The World Turns" is barreling toward another Oscar nod). She looks very pretty.
Hooray! I had no idea Tracey was in this movie. Checking ANOTHER box in my "Get a Babysitter" column.
Well, look, I don't really like the shoes -- they remind me of Birkenstocks, and I hate Birkenstocks with a white-hot fire, no matter what Fashion Week tried to tell me last season -- but that crazy-ass patchwork Alice In Wonderland Hallucination of a dress is REALLY kind of great on her. She looks totally charming. How did she do that? I would just look lost.
And, something soothing with which to end the day: Meryl as Meryl, being Meryl, in a Meryl joint that will get Meryl nominated again. And probably for good reason. She's just LIKE that.
