Elizabeth wore a similarly colored gown to the UK premiere of the first Hunger Games film in 2012. That one was by Bill Blass, and it is superior. I love it. It's so memorably good on her that I'm surprised she tried it again with a gown that can't compete.
Part of the problem for me: This shade is just a TOUCH too urinary, and it's sallowing her skin (yes, I've decided that's a verb). So maybe in a better color or a cool pattern, this would've sang for me. But I don't love the ab windows she's sporting, either, so in the end I'd rather she'd taken an entirely different risk. It suffers in comparison, but it suffers on its own too.
The makeup is... a little better up close? I still just think all the hues are off by slight degrees here and there. Enough to make it a slip.
This is such an Adam and Eve gown to me -- it's a high-fashion fig leaf: "Don't look! But, look. But I don't want you to SEE anything. But I do." The result is that she looks like the hostess at a Mexican restaurant called El Crotchitan. Try the tortilla nips and crotchamole, and then the flauntas.
Ugh. This just looks like someone covered her in tar and then ran her over.
And the tried to chip her out of the tar, but got bored.
These two are very dashing. He looks like he could be on his way to Sleepy Hollow to join in the time-traveling hotventures.
It's too bad they don't love each other, or anything.
They look nice but her EARRINGS are what I covet. Make them mine, Felicity. May you inexplicably wake up knowing my mailing address and in a generous mood.
You three, get a room, too. It'd be a good rumor, anyway. And does Liam Hemsworth have barbed wire on his tie?
I feel like at future premieres, he's going to have to ask her not to hug the air above his head.
