This dress is classic Elizabeth Banks. I feel like whenever she's going to an event like this -- low-level importance, but still An Actual Event, someone on her team gets Elie Saab on speed-dial and has them send over whatever they've got kicking around. It's pretty, though. It's kind of designed for a super fabulous dinner party out on the patio.

This hair is hella Mary Todd Lincoln from the side, though.

This color is wonderful, but the proportions on this are BONKS. It's one of those things where, like, I GET it? I just don't....particularly like it.

So extremely cute, this one. This is his "little English lit professor" look, and it's charming.

Paul Dano! This suit is sharp. (It's much more flattering to him that most of what they put him in for War & Peace.)

I think this dress is utterly adorable and I have no idea how she and E Banks are at the same party. (I suspect E Banks went a little too over the top for this one, which is at least certainly a choice she can carry off with aplomb.)

One of the ways I know I'm old is that every time I see O'Shea, I CANNOT HELP MYSELF but think, "you look so much like your father!!!!" And I sound delighted when I think it, like Ice Cube and I are old high school friends. (Which we are, just he doesn't know it because we only knew each other via my car radio.)

The bottom of this outfit is going to Elizabeth Banks's party, while the top is wondering if she should just order pizza for dinner tonight or what.

It's Magda! (EVERY other photo from this event, she looked delighted but you couldn't really see her outfit. Rest assured, Magda did not look pained throughout.)

I really like this dress. I wish she'd worn red shoes, but, real talk: I probably also would have worn black shoes with this dress, if I owned this dress.

And then Jane Seymour showed up,
