Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (in Ralph & Russo)

You can see where they've pegged the skirt so that it won't open up as high as it was meant to -- but seriously, might not the solution be, "Wear a dress that doesn't do that AT ALL?" Because a) the pinched slit is obvious, especially in that fabric, and b) "the pinched slit is obvious" totally sounds like a euphemism with this dress and it was not meant to AT ALL; and c) now that we're talking about it, the slit STILL comes up too high when she's walking. At least, for a state dinner at the White House, I think it's inappropriate. This is Boobs Legsly creeping out to play again, basically, while also somehow -- against all odds -- managing to look DOWDY. It's just a unfortunate choice, and there were HUNDREDS out there that would have been better, including by this same designer.

So you can see the shoes, Which are a nonentity. If they're designed to make her look barefoot, thus extending the illusion of her padding around the house in her robe, well, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox

Look! It's Calvin Klein! Isn't he a dreamboat?

Sandra Oh

She looks great in that. It's noisy, but playful, and perfectly appropriate.
