I'm really not a huge fan of the slouchy peekaboo sleeves -- they create such an illusion of shlumpyness, or at least slouchynes. She could be standing ramrod straight, and probably is, but the sleeves will deduct points from her posture just because.
And maybe not that flattering? I mean, obviously, we all know she's still Gwyneth and thus still has Gwyneth's body, but I don't think this is making that body look as good as it is. And you don't live a life of self-denial the way she talks like she does just so that some dress can ruin everything.
This is beautiful, and she looks fantastic -- much improved -- EXCEPT for the fact that she either needs a more dramatic eye, or a standout lipstick. Everything else, though, is a win. For once.
I do NOT like this. The posture that these horn-hip dresses force upon women makes them look tense and stiff and like their shoulders are slightly shrugged. Although I appreciate the IDEA of looking like you have beer-bottle pockets, it's just not the most flattering fashion choice.
She looks foxy. Can we talk about how Smash has gone from being my hate-watch to being secretly enjoyable? It still has big problems, don't get me wrong, but now they're having people be appropriately snide to McPhee's awful character AND they've given Hilty back the Marilyn role and given up the pretense that McPhee was ever any good at it, so things are much looser and better and there is always at least one really good musical moment (Hilty + Bernadette Peters = YES). I am actually going to miss it when it inevitably gets cancelled. Who knew?
I feel like I've seen this dress, or its spirit animal, in a different color. And I don't think I liked it then, either. It looks like it desperately wants to drop off her chest, and I don't care for the matching tongue hanging from her waist.
I don't care for the way her skirt is looking at me.
Did anyone actually CUT this fabric, or just safety-pin it in globs around her body?
This is so Young Blanchett. She looks like she's hatching.
Maybe SJP is just really climate-sensitive (or sensible) these days, but I find that she's frequently covering up in a coat. There aren't photos that I've found yet of her with the coat off, even inside the venue. Is Carrie Bradshaw having arm insecurities? I guess she can get in line with the rest of us mortals.
