I was just about to deconstruct this in all the ways you probably expect, when I got a strange sense of deja vu. I was right: We just saw Shannon Woodward in this at the Emmys, which is odd because she is not as famous as Felicity Joes (though they are not unalike physically), and it's unusual for an Oscar nominee like Felicity to get someone else's sloppy seconds. Maybe Shannon bought hers on her own. Or Felicity did. Anyway, the real trick here is that it's not a cute enough dress for ONE person to wear, much less two.

Formal overalls: officially happening. We're also bringing back neck bows, I guess, which I was JUST discussing with a friend the other day in the context of the old MacGyver episodes and how bananas the fashions were.
Speaking of that, let's sidestep to the MacGyver reboot. I only watched the pilot, out of curiosity, and let me tell you what two of the EXTREMELY IMPORTANT MacGyverisms were: 1) You can pick a handcuff lock with a bobby pin; and 2) you can also pick a handcuff lock with an untwisted paper clip. IS THAT REALLY THE BEST YOU CAN DO. Isn't MacGyver supposed to be, like, MAKING a paper clip out of Tide powder and nitrous oxide or something before he then uses it as a key? It was so lazy and boring.

These two are engaged. I believe they are both Scientologists. Well, she for sure is; I don't know about Ben. If he isn't, well, he may be soon. I'm talking about that because I don't really have any thoughts on her dress. It's fine. It's very Laura Prepon. It is exactly the kind of cocktail dress I would have predicted for her.

This is the two of them from a different premiere this week. Her shoes are the same -- and still good -- but the dress is WAY TOO TIGHT and also upholstered. Like an inherited sofa that doesn't quite fit your living room.

Rita looks really splendid in this, I must say. I've heard divorce rumblings about the two of them lately, and if they turn out to be true, this is one hell of a farewell lap. They are both glowing.
