Rafael Nadal

Coincidentally, this is also what I wear to play tennis.

Rafael Nadal

VERY jaunty. Although I think we're getting to a point where Rafa might need a hair intervention. A hairvention.

Rafael Nadal

But overall, yes. Thumbs up. (His new Tommy Hilfiger ad is, by the way, very naked, if you're into him.)

Constance Jablonski

I actually am VERY preppy in terms of personal stylistic leanings and ergo I often find Tommy Hilfiger appealing; I also think tennis has, of all the sports, the cutest outfits. So, in short, I love this. Even with the flappy car wash hem.

Constance Jablonski

I MIGHT wish the top were not a crop. Not EVERYTHING need be cropped. I guess we are truly attempting to answer that age-old nursery rhyme question: How much crop could a crop top crop, if a crop top could crop tops?

Hannah Davis

She looks like the mean mean mean pretty popular girl in a truly great and highly cheesy 80s movie.

Chanel Iman

The proportions of her top are also a little weird, but overall this speaks so truly to my love of tennis skirts.

Lake Bell

I also love this. STRIPES.

Jane Lynch

This must feel like deja vu all over again for her.

Martha Stewart

And then Martha showed up. (I presume with carefully made snacks from her organic garden.)

Serena Williams

And over to Nike's 'NYC Street Tennis' event, which was on Monday. Serena looks GREAT. (Also, you should take a gander at our look back at her US Open fashions through the years. There is a tennis blazer.)

Maria Sharapova

This is ALSO good. Not for nothing, both her hair and Serena's look great.

Rafael Nadal

It seems they were mic'ed for this, with headset mics, so don't do what I did and think, "oooh, Rafa, you have got to get that new mole checked out!"

Roger Federer

This is quite zippy on Fed.

Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras

And these two. They look like the two unassuming dads at your neighborhood tennis courts, who show up and then SMOKE EVERYONE. (Especially Pete.)

Anna Wintour and Victor Cruz

And then Anna Wintour showed up. (Unsurprisingly, given how much she loves tennis in general and Roger in particular. Also those shoes.) I must say that I FULLY LOVE her dress. Victor Cruz, on the other hand, DOES NOT CARE. He, here, seems to be wistfully thinking, "I wish I had worn socks."

Anna, Victor, and Kennedy Cruz

Whereas his little girl is (a) SO CUTE OMG and (b) totally ready to go home now. THANKS DADDY.

Fugs and Fabs: Various Recent Tennis Events
The US Open is on the horizon -- Heather and I had a long conversation last night (post-wine) about how we're VERY NERVOUS FOR SERENA -- and ergo, New York is aflush with tennis fever: Tommy Hilfger launched his new campaign with Rafa by having a faux tennis match in Bryant Park (this is VERY TOMMY; last Fashion Week, he turned the Park Avenue Armory into a football field [honestly, it was AWESOME]), and Nike finagled a variety of stars to come play tennis in the street, surely as a promotional event for the Open. Let's eyeball everyone. Bonus shirtlessness and cute tennis outfits abound. [Photos: Getty, Fame/Flynet]
