SHE looks lovely, but this whole outfit screams to me, "I just looked at the dress code in the car and realized that the heels I'm wearing with my cocktail dress are NOT going to work and I've got to daytime-up this freaking thing. Do I have any shoes in the backseat....? YES. These will do. Confidence, Ali. No one will realize this was totally half-assed."

I actually think this is rather charming -- I thought the hem was all insane until I realized that was just because she's holding a clutch in front of part of it. I love a pattern on a day dress.
