Ok, Fug Nation, let's discuss. I'll start with the feet-- while I appreciate that they're not just plain nude or pink flats, I am not sure that wearing a dress with THAT many colors on it calls for a totally DIFFERENT color of shoe. The dress itself... You are going to think I am insane, but I actually like it on her. It is not one I would buy for MYSELF, but that's not the question. On Lena, it's a fun, unusual choice that I think is avoiding some of her usual traps. It's not over-structured in a way that pinches and mashes her; it's also not so voluminous that it swallows her. All that freaky interest splashed on the front actually gives the dress the ILLUSION of shape so that the cut itself doesn't have to be fancy. From the way it's sitting on her chest, I'm guessing she isn't wearing a bra, but I can't tell; if she isn't, one might help, just so the dress sits a bit cleaner up there. But considering she's dressed as David Bowie's eyeball, I'm actually surprised that I don't hate it on her. I mean, Bowie IS majestic, so maybe it does make sense.

Did somebody grab Jemima and Lena and ORDER them to do The Bladder? Having said that, she looks nice. The lipstick was well-chosen to give the shoes a reason to come to the party.

This feels like the first time she's done the whole Gwyneth-y "Oh, Hey, Just Popped Over From The Hamptons, Where I Was Juicing Some Everything-Free Linguini" look. By all rights I should HATE those pants. They're a drawstring waist AND have elastic cuffs, both of which make me twitch. But I think those pants found the right body and the right styling to make them viable. BY SOME MIRACLE. The nude shoes aren't even that dumb with them. What is HAPPENING to me? It must be that it's Friday, and I'm tired, and probably as you read this I'm writing up some screed about how FItz on "Scandal" remains the worst at everything. Nothing makes you sunshiney about drawstring pants like the way Fitz "loves" Olivia.
