Happy Friday! Well....this week had a lot of heavy news. I hope you're doing okay.

If you missed it, we had a fun conversation about [weird good stuff we've bought for our homes](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-afternoon-chat-whats-the-best-weird-thing-youve-bought-for-your-home-08-2021/), and I rounded up[ a bunch of breezy dresses](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/fug-nation-loves-breezy-dresses-08-2021/)!

At InStyle: [If You Want to Help the Women of Afghanistan, Here's What You Need to Know First](https://www.instyle.com/politics-social-issues/how-to-help-women-afghanistan??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

And at NPR: [Here's How You Can Support Earthquake Relief Efforts In Haiti](https://www.npr.org/2021/08/17/1028421310/haiti-earthquake-how-to-help?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

This is amazing: [An Alabama Woman’s Neighborly Vaccination Campaign.](https://www.newyorker.com/culture/the-new-yorker-documentary/an-alabama-womans-neighborly-vaccination-campaign??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \[The New Yorker\]

This is a great piece. Here is the lede: "On April 30, 2021, after four months in the ceiling, Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, a cat, spent what I thought would be her last night among the dust bunnies. At first, it had been strange to be haunted by a small, hairy ghost who loved to yowl right into the heating ducts. But soon it became almost routine. Some people have mice in their walls. I had a cat in my ceiling."[ I Spent 5 Months Trying to Coax a Cat From My Ceiling](https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2021/08/ceiling-cat-meme-came-live-my-house/619832/??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), at the Atlantic.

*This* is a pile of yikes: [“A Smile With Sharp Teeth”: Mike Richards’s Rise to ‘Jeopardy!’ Host Sparks Questions About His Past](https://www.theringer.com/tv/2021/8/18/22631299/mike-richards-jeopardy-host-search-process-past-comments?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Since this was published, [he's stepped down as replacement host, but (as I type this) is still EP](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/20/business/mike-richards-quits-jeopardy.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). What a boondoggle, to quote my mother. \[The Ringer\]

SO good and juicy: [The Spine Collector](https://www.vulture.com/2021/08/stealing-books-before-release-mystery.html??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io): "For years, a mysterious figure has been stealing books before their release. Is it espionage? Revenge? Or a complete waste of time?" \[Vulture\]

This is very interesting (and gossipy) indeed: [The Parameters of Peloton Celebrity](https://annehelen.substack.com/p/the-parameters-of-peloton-celebrity?) \[Culture Study\]

A GREAT interview:[ Joshua Jackson On His *Two* Proposals & Playing The Anti-Pacey.](https://www.refinery29.com/en-ca/2021/08/10606403/joshua-jackson-interview-proposal-jodie-turner-smith??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) He is honestly the best. \[Refinery29\]

Worth your time: [Inside the heartbreaking conservatorship battle of a ‘Star Trek’ legend](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2021-08-15/nichelle-nichols-star-trek-uhura-dementia-conversatorship-battle??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \[LA Times\]

This was fun! At Page Six:[ I walked (almost) a mile in Lady Gaga’s 8-inch platform shoes](https://pagesix.com/2021/08/16/i-tried-walking-in-lady-gagas-8-inch-platform-shoes/??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

I chuckled at this headline:[ Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Named A Baby](https://pubx.co/PzUgto?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I have a conspiracy theory that this isn't the baby's real name? \[Lainey\]

Totally fascinating: [Behind the Fight to Save the Gulf’s Spectacular Coral Reefs](https://www.texasmonthly.com/travel/behind-the-fight-to-save-the-gulfs-spectacular-coral-reefs/??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). I want to see these! \[Texas Monthly\]
