Hello! Hope everyone has a pleasant Memorial Day weekend, if you're in the United States.

First: We're going to be hosting [an open thread over at Drinks With Broads during the *Succession* series finale](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/) on Sunday; as always, comments are open to paid subscribers, and everyone can read them. This week, all newsletter subscribers got a [delicious blind item via Melissa McCarthy and musings about *Grey's Anatomy*](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/p/ursula-the-sea-witch-conjured-some), and the paid list got that newsletter, plus all recaps, [plus intel about how Josh Duhamel is now a Doomsday prepper (!!)](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/p/josh-duhamel-comes-out-as-a-doomsday), among other intriguing things -- like [why Heather ran her wine through a blender](https://drinkswithbroads.substack.com/i/123337020/in-honor-of-connor-a-wine-story).

Speaking of, I know a lot of folks here read Girls of a Certain Age, and [Kim is now on Substack](https://kimfrance.substack.com/)! (Her website got mangled this week and I'm not sure what's going to happen with it; the newsletter is great and basically is the website just...on Substack.)

At Decider: Ferocious And Wild: [An Imperial Tina Turner Proved To Be The Soul Of ‘Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.’](https://decider.com/2023/05/25/tina-turner-mad-max-beyond-thunderdome-tribute/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) (We rounded up [21 amazing photos of Tina here.](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/goodbye-to-a-legend-tina-turner-05-2023/))

At Vanity Fair: [How 25 Dubious Basquiats Created a Massive Museum Scandal—And Exposed Some Dark Art Truths](https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2023/05/basquiat-museum-scandal?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

Also good work at VF: [A Very Brief History of the Birkenstock Arizona](https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2023/05/a-very-brief-history-of-the-birkenstock-arizona??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

Related: There are a ton of sales this weekend, but judging from our sales data,[ you're gonna want to know about the J.Crew one; it's 40% off purchase, 50% off sale items](https://rstyle.me/+-TowUG99GkASiYnbCfrtLg?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). \[affiliate link\]

Other sales you might care about are:

- Boden is [offering 30% off everything (including sale)](https://www.bodenusa.com/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)
- Madewell [is 30% off everything. ](https://rstyle.me/+WAMEkQuHWFPz1STzQZF2dw?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)
- If you coveted those cabana sling chairs from our recent summer stuff round-up, [the Inside is 15-20% off this weekend.](https://rstyle.me/+HKv3WoufR2vMGwzkwds%5FyQ?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

It's Summer Book Time! One of my favorite times of the year. At Vulture: [18 New Beach Reads for Every Kind of Book Lover.](https://www.vulture.com/article/best-new-beach-reads-summer-2023.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) This might be a good time to tell you that our own summer reads -- [*The Royal We* and *The Heir Affair* ](https://rstyle.me/+zm4kAQu41BY1wkILzNNwtQ?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)\-- are now available on Kindle Unlimited (at least for a little while), if that's useful to you!

At Time: [*American Born Chinese* Reflects a New Era of Storytelling](https://time.com/6281202/american-born-chinese-disney-interviews/??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

This story is a RIDE and honestly a very disturbing one; both of these people seem potentially terrible to me. Trigger warning for animal abuse. [The Cat Who Could Kill Horses: Chef Liz Johnson accused her husband Will Aghajanian of killing their cat. That’s just one part of the story](https://www.grubstreet.com/article/horses-restaurant-la-will-aghajanian-elizabeth-johnson-chef.html??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). \[NY Mag\]

In case you don't want to go outside this weekend, Vulture presents[ The 100 Hardest Video-Game Levels of All Time.](https://www.vulture.com/article/hardest-video-game-levels.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

We had a super fun chat [about what everyone is looking forward to!](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-afternoon-chat-what-are-you-looking-forward-to-2-05-2023/)
