She has since issued an apology (don't read any of the comments on any posts about this unless you want to give up most of your faith in humanity, btw) but (charitably) I think we can all agree that this is not the best idea Julianne Hough has ever had, and that none of her friends have the sense God gave a goldfish for letting her leave the house like this. I am stunned that no one looked at her and said, "are you SERIOUS??!" Almost as stunned as I am that she decided to Go There in the first place, because, seriously, I can't believe I need to clarify this but vis a vis blackface? DON'T.
This feels about right. For a woman who desires nothing more than attention, what better costume than the most attention-getting look of the year. I'm just glad Paris didn't go all "Wrecking Ball" on us.
Carmen Miranda is fun: festive, saucy, not overtly sexy but still flirty. Everyone loves a fruit-covered turban, also. It's a universal truth.
Our photo service swears Tim Allen is in costume as a "baseball player," and I think we can all agree that, if so, this is the worst baseball player costume ever.
Axl Rose and Slash is a pretty awesome costume for a couple, AND has the bonus of being super comfortable. You just have to accept that people are going to leer "HEY WHERE'S BUCKET HEAD" at you all night, and/or that the drunker people get the more likely they are to come running at you screaming the lyrics to "November Rain." "NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, CINDY, AND WE BOTH KNOW HEARTS CAN CHANGE!"
I have no idea what The Piv is supposed to be.
I suspect he is technically a handsome devil.
This is allegedly Leonardo DiCaprio, which I say: (a) how can you tell? and (b) the expression on the face of the dude next to him is priceless and glorious.
Please let them be Heidi and Heidi's Grandfather.
These two are dating, and I think we can all agree that Cheno has wide-ranging taste in dudes given that she also dated Aaron Sorkin. I do applaud the former Bachelor for going full-on Stormtrooper, but I'm not sure what Chenoweth is supposed to be? A cute SWAT?
Chord Overstreet is apparently Jax Teller from Sons Of Anarchy, which I don't watch. I suspect this is one of those costumes that is alluring because you can create it from items in your closet, which is my usual MO and why I have popped up at Halloween as: Liz Lemon, Blair Waldorf, Anna Wintour (that one needed a wig), and Janice Dickenson.
I have no idea what these two are supposed to be either, but they are legitimately chilling.
THAT, my friends, is how you wear a turban.
A twofer from Lambert. I hope he runs into Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford because maybe he can join the band.
These are rather charmingly half-assed.
Sexy Schoolgirl, the go-to for women everywhere short on time and long on desire to look cute (I've done it myself). But the real hero of this photo is the girl who wisely turned her face away from the camera, and who decided to go to a party at the Playboy mansion as a Bunny wearing high top Converse.
This is honestly not that much different from what he usually wears.
The best part about this is that SHE HAS WORN THESE BOOTS BEFORE.
I played The Queen of Hearts in a stage performance of Alice in Wonderland many many years ago and I do NOT recall the costume involving this much leg.
Poison Ivy? The 90s ARE back!
This is not a costume, Chelsea.
Um, sexy...Marie Antoinette, post-guillotine? I don't even know. I'd love to see someone just show up dressed as a slice of pizza. Full-sized slice, not a Sexy Slice.
This is fun, though. I miss Snarky Michelle Trachtenberg on my TV.
Well, I only hope one of them went home with Kelly Brook. Not QUITE the right era, but close enough.
Fergie and Josh Duhamel look pretty impressive, although I'm not sure how Riff Raff and Elvira know each other. In fairness, if they met on OK Cupid, they probably WOULD hit it off.
The internet tells me LC is "a fairy queen."
My eyes tell me Nolan is a skeleton.
Grace Phipps was fairly annoying on Vampire Diaries and I am very pleased the show is pretending April never existed. HOWEVER! Her Annie Hall is ADORABLE.
This is Lance's fiance, and I FULLY endorse these costumes. One might even call them excellent.
As for Jennifer Morrison, she's Cher Horowitz from Clueless, which officially makes this one of my favorite things she's ever worn.
