I like this -- it's much better than Wiig's nipple explosion because the rosette is higher, and it's not the color of something chapped. Do we think an updo would've been better with a shoulder that detailed? Or am I just splitting her very bouncy hairs?

This is quite prim, but in a good way on her. Maybe I wish it were green -- seriously, apparently I am really into green, especially on her; I think it's one of those colors that looks great on almost everyone, so I'm always surprised people don't go to it more -- but on the whole the shape of it works and it's beautifully made.

This kind of works TOO. How do we feel about the length? I have so many questions for you to address in the comments. I think it's because I'm running low on certain opinions of Angelina Jolie. Does that make sense? Sometimes I'm sick of the caftans, sometimes I think they suit her. Sometimes I am bored of her makeup, sometimes I want to marry it. Sometimes I think she looks too stiff, and sometimes I find her regal bearing enchanting and appropriate for someone who is beyond A-list at this point. It all basically comes down to context: what she's worn recently, plus the event, plus... intangibles. Today, I like how relaxed yet elegant this is.

Okay, but I'm not sold on the mono-sleeve. Adding interest is fine, but not when it's sort of dumb interest.

Here we're back to something closer to Standard Angie: metallic, semi-robey, same hair she's been wearing at every other thing. And that illustrates my point about context. If she'd JUST worn this, randomly, I might have been on board or even loved it. But in the slideshow and after this run of appearances, I wish she'd shaken up the coif. It's like she's a paper doll and they just whip the outfits on and off of her, amid occasionally forcing her to make out with other paper dolls.

[Fugs or Fabs: Angelina JolieAngie took a break from helping Brad Pitt through awards season -- I'm sort of bummed he's not going to win for Moneyball, as he was excellent in it; I'm afraid he'll end up winning one later as an apology, for a role that wasn't as good, the way the Oscars like to do it, and then someone MORE deserving of THAT one will get frozen out, and the vicious cycle will continue -- to promote In The Land of Blood and Honey and some other random thingamy. Don't you love how thorough I am? But seriously, the event rarely matters.
