Claire Danes

I think the wet look of this red dress is pretty groovy; Claire knows well how to pick stuff that's actually quite simple yet also manages to look like it's got a lot going on. But her hair looks like it was recently frightened.

Cool necklace, though -- I kept thinking from afar that it was a horseshoe, because the red piece blends in with the dress a little. It's a nifty way to accessorize a dress that already has a strong sense of itself, even though it's also pretty simple.

Of course, it also has pockets, which I didn't notice until she used them. Then again, most of the time I whine about how this kind of thing kills the line of a dress - but in this case it actually doesn't. Somehow Claire Danes has figured out how to jam her hands into a pocket without it looking slouchy or self-conscious. Lucky girl.

And then we have this, from her old pal Narciso Rodriguez. He does love hot pink and black. But wouldn't this be better two inches higher on both ends? The bottom is negotiable, actually, but the top is incredibly distracting. I mean, I know that must be true, because her hair looks GREAT and yet I keep staring at her and frowning. I hate it when a lady wastes her volume.

Fugs or Fabs: Claire Danes
It's a mark of how good Claire Danes is on Homeland that when I see her in public, I'm actually surprised that she doesn't look clammy and frenetically, heatedly insane. But does she look frenetically, heatedly good? Let's discuss. [poll id="7462"] [Photos: Splash News, Getty]
