This is the Fashion Footwear Association Of New York Awards, so I kind of wish SJP had worn wackier shoes. Don't hold out on us like this, lady.

I do like how POOFY her skirt is, but does her whole dress seem a little depressed? When we were in England, Heather and I learned that, after Prince Albert died, Queen Victoria started titling all her yearly diaries things like, "THE 26TH YEAR OF MY UNENDING HEARTBREAK" or the "41ST YEAR SINCE MY LIFE ENDED FOREVER" which is romantic and all but also you need to get a grip. ANYWAY, the flounce of this skirt coupled with the fact that it's black gives the whole thing a bit of a Victorian Mourning Quality that I wish came with its own OTT diary entries.

Additionally, I'm currently in the middle of some health issues (nothing serious!) that have required a lot of blood-taking, and I am a delicate flower that bruises if you breathe on me, and all I can think when looking at this is that those wacky elbow-bands are perfect for an event after a long day with the phlebotomist. (Seriously, last time I had a giant bruise for a week. One of you will know how to avoid that. TELL ME. Arnica?) Which if that's a new fashion statement, I'm pretty stoked.

And you, Nicole. This is perhaps slightly sheerer than I want it to be, but overall it feels gloomy in a way that seems sexy, rather than just glum. What do you think?
