Happy August!

Are you in the mood for something stripey? [We've got you covered!](https://www.gofugyourself.com/fug-nation-loves-stripes-now-and-forever-07-2019?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

We're also heading into the last days of the Nordstrom sale, [so if you're still in the market for a good deal...](https://www.gofugyourself.com/fug-nation-loves-all-these-cute-shoes-and-bags-at-the-nordstrom-sale-07-2019?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

We had a great chat here [about what everyone is reading right now!](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-afternoon-chat-what-are-you-reading-5-07-2019/)

[We also had a super diverting chat about HOBBIES](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/your-afternoon-chat-what-is-your-hobby-07-2019/). Y'all are accomplished!

Allow me to now make a huge tonal shift. [Figure skater Ashley Wagner was sexually assaulted by John Coughlin, the skater who died by suicide last year after facing other charges of sexual assault](https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2019/08/01/ashley-wagner-olympian-figure-skating-sexual-assault-john-coughlin/1876517001/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). She is very brave to speak about this publicly, and I hope it helps other people.

This story is....extremely something else, at Slate: [The Dark History Behind the Year’s Bestselling Debut Novel](https://slate.com/culture/2019/07/delia-owens-crawdads-murder-africa.html??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

I thought this piece at Lainey was VERY INTERESTING, and also it wasn't anything I knew anything about until I read it: [Celine Dion: is Pepe a problem? ](https://pubx.co/px4WcU?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) This is JUICY.

This is good to know, at Vogue! [Target Is Bringing Back 20 Years of Collaborations From Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Missoni, and More](https://www.vogue.com/article/target-collaborations-20th-anniversary??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

This was a good, and convincing, read at New York: [Peyton Manning’s Undeserved Reputation Is His Greatest Achievement](https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/07/peyton-mannings-greatest-achievement.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

So interesting, at the New York Times: [The Long and Surprising History of Roller Derby](https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/26/sports/roller-derby-history-photos.html??ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

Also at Lainey, truly, this is the best: [Idris Elba tries to explain Cats.](https://pubx.co/hjgnJR?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) Spoiler: HE CANNOT.

Please go see this, New Yorkers!!!! [Cellino and Barnes breakup turned into off-Broadway play](https://nypost.com/2019/07/23/cellino-and-barnes-breakup-turned-into-off-broadway-play/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).. \[NY Post\]

This was *such a good read*, at The Ringer: [How “Summer Girls” Explains a Bunch of Hits—and the Music of 1999](https://www.theringer.com/music/2019/7/29/8934482/lfo-summer-girls-1999-music-abercrombie-fitch-song?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

At Pajiba, EVERYTHING about this headline is A RIDE: [Want To See Taika Waititi Being Sexy? Well, You're Going To Have To Sit Through a Jeremy Renner Music Video](https://www.pajiba.com/celebrities%5Fare%5Fbetter%5Fthan%5Fyou/jeremy-renners-latest-music-video-includes-taika-waititi-cameo.php?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Yes, but then no but then what but then...Jeremy Renner has a music video?!?!

This is excellent at NBC News, from Margaret Willison: ['The Bachelorette' finale winner was feminism — but it's a tainted victory](https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/bachelorette-finale-winner-was-feminism-it-s-tainted-victory-ncna1038351?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

At Vulture: [Hal Prince’s 10 Greatest Broadway Musicals, Ranked.](https://www.vulture.com/2019/07/hal-prince-best-broadway-musicals.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) (Prince died this week, at 91.) I mildly disagree with these rankings!

At Celebitchy, romantic GOSSIP: [Lady Gaga has a new boyfriend, and it’s not Bradley Cooper](https://www.celebitchy.com/629781/lady%5Fgaga%5Fhas%5Fa%5Fnew%5Fboyfriend%5Fand%5Fits%5Fnot%5Fbradley%5Fcooper%5Fthank%5Fgod/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)

At Atlas Obscura: [These Hidden Treasures Hold Clues About Jewish Life in Medieval France.](https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/hidden-treasures-jewish-life-medieval-france?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) They were hidden in a wall for 500 years!
